[DYNASTY] WR Rankings (1 Viewer)

Go Deep, what's your reasoning for being so high on Avery these days? It seems to me that he's always injured; plus, Stl. Louis is going to draft a #1 WR this year in every mock I've seen.
Unless the Rams take a WR with their first pick, Avery will be their highest drafted WR. He was the first WR taken in the 2008 draft with the first pick in the 2nd round. After a pretty good rookie season his numbers dropped a bit in his 2nd year due to injuries and terrible QB play. The Rams drafted Bradford last year and it finally looked like Avery was going to get a shot to prove why he was the first WR taken in the draft. The two were in sync during the preseason and things were looking pretty good until Avery tore his ACL.

Assuming he is 100% healthy, which i have to assume since he was already running during this past season, i fully believe he will either be the Rams #1 or 2 WR. If Brandon Lloyd can come out of nowehere to be the #1 FF WR this season at 29 with Mcdaniels and Orton, Avery should be able to have a big season at 27 with Mcdaniels and Bradford. I am not at all concerned about any of the other Rams WR's, if Avery is healthy he is the best WR on that team. The only way he ends up as the #2 is if the Rams get Green or Jones with their first round pick, and I dont even think Jones would take the #1 WR spot from Avery for at least a year or two.
Highest drafted WR they have is Mark Clayton - Ravens / Round 1, Pick 22

But where in the draft they were picked shouldn't be your indicator of talent

Again, thank you guys for the discussion going on here.

One thing I wanted to address was the number of posts saying that I have Marshall too low. I think a lot of people are still ranking Brandon Marshall the Denver Bronco instead of ranking Brandon Marshall the Miami Dolphin. Miami's offence last year was TERRIBLE. Their red zone offence was a joke, they ran the ball way too much (and way too ineffectively at that) inside the red zone, there was not much passing going on down there which limited Marshall's TDs. Also, Chad Henne turned into Captain Checkdown in far too many games, refusing to take shots down the field. Yes, Marshall still posted a 1000 yard season despite missing time, but he was rarely a difference maker in very many games. I had him on one of my teams and he was riding my bench most weeks because he just wasn't producing. Yes, he's a talented receiver but until I see the Dolphins do anything to improve the offence, (hiring Brian Daboll doesn't rank high on my list of improvements) I don't see Marshall matching his talent with production. Any of the guys I have ranked ahead of him would be far more attractive options as far as I'm concerned. Trust me, I would love to see Marshall go off for 100-1300-10 next year but I don't see it happening. I could move him up, but it would be just a few spots at the most. There's no way I'd take Marshall over somebody like Maclin or Holmes for example.

It also appears that I've undersold Sidney Rice. So, sell me on him. I still don't see what everybody else does in him. I can make a case for moving Fitz up in my rankings but I'm still not sold on Rice to move him ahead of other people.

A lot of people disregarding Manningham too.

What do you not see, that you look for in a WR? He is one of the best jump ball receivers in the NFL. He has great hands, can get open in tight space, has a solid head on his shoulders, great vert, pedigree, hips, footwork. You have Nicks #2. Put Eli Manning on the Vikings and I take Rice over Nicks, no questions asked.

Manningham's ranking (probably more than others at this point) is a complete crapshoot. 1) Will the NYG resign Steve Smith?2) How healthy is Steve Smith?#2 probably affects #1 to some degree. I have Manningham rostered, and per the two questions above, I am not counting on him at all in the near future. Check back in a few months . . .

First, very good list and kudos for the effort.

I only saw one issue:

54. Steve Smith (CAR)

Even if the Panthers stick with Clausen, and I doubt that they won't make some sort of move to acquire a legit vet to push him or take over as the starter, I simply would never bet against Steve Smith.

I wouldn't feel comfortable putting him down in the 54th slot in any WR ranking system.

That is the only issue that leapt out at me.

Other than that, good list.
Yet you would have been successful betting against Steve Smith this season, in an almost identical situation to what he will likely face next year.
This is the first season in memory where Steve Smith has completely cleaned out his locker at the end of the season. In seasons past he has always left some belongings behind during the off season... This could be nothing or it could be a sign of things to come. I expect SS will be with another team for 2011. That may not be any better for his stats but certainly couldn't be worse. SS has a better outlook if he leaves.. IMO
STEVE SMITH WANTS OUT
