There are some terriffic young talents being vastly undervalued allover fantasy football right now.
Ronnie Brown--one pace to be the #1 RB last year. The Miami QB situation vastly improved by signing Pennington, and that offense can only get better. If it doesn't, oh well, he did great with it last year. An ACL is still a big deal, but Edgerrin James, Frank Gore, Willis McGahee have all come back fine form it. He's hovering around RB15 in alot of rankings right now, could return to top 5 form by 2009.
Laurence Maroney--Hovering around RB20, despite going off at the end of last season through the playoffs. He's in the middle of one of the best offenses...EVER. He has ridiculously low mileage, and enters this season healthy as opposed to last season. There are a plethora of other backs on the team, but he's too talented to be held down much longer.
Brandon Jacobs--He's 26, and a monster on the goal line. Was on pace for nearly 1500 yards rushing last season, and got just under 20 carries a game. AND he averaged 5 yards a carry. He even showed some receiving ability. I've never beena big fan of his, but the top 10-12 potential is undeniable if they give him 240+ carries.
Willie Parker--he's not "young", but he's still only 27. Last year before the injury he was on pace to lead the league in attempts and yards. Fast forward, add a rookie, and he's down to RB25ish. He's just too good for that, especially in what should be a very run heavy offense with him as the centerpiece.
Ray Rice-Maybe a tad higher to get him than what he's worth to you at this moment. But, all you hear out of Baltimore is how exceptional and hard working he's been, and you hear on ESPN that McGahee is showing up late and being lazy when he's there, followed by knee surgery. This kid is going to get a shot in this league within the next few years.
Deangelo Williams. The ability is there. The opportunity hasn't been. The drafting of Stewart has Williams down around RB30 in FBGs dynasty rankings. I find it hard to believe he won't get a shot elsewhere in a year or 2.
Steve Slaton--Nothing more than a change of pace back. But, isn't that the case with Brian Westbrook, Tiki Barber, Willie Parker. With Ahman Green and Chris Brown in front of him, and their injury pasts not behind them...he'll get a shot this year. Maybe he capitalizes.
Chris Perry-word is he may get a chance to start. He's still reasonably young, and the Bengals have an outstanding passing game. He should be virtually free right now.
