Vote of No Confidence - Hurts

This feels like the beginning of the end of the Wentz era; when we still wanted to believe.......but we all realized it probably isn't going happen.

There’s a difference Wentz had an elite skill set but injuries and other issues took a toll. Hurts is a mid 15 QB can be lower top 10 depending on day at worst 20-15 on a bad day. Difference is his limited skill set he could never consistently become elite. Always chasing the ‘22 season numbers

They won't do it in this game, but it's time for the Giants to find out if Evan Neal can play anywhere on the OL

they are going to win 28-3 with no turnovers. not sure i get all the Hurts hate, sure he isn't MVP Hurts but he has looked better and this is a good win

You're not wrong. I'm certainly not going to be a schmohawk and root against him to validate this and will gladly admit I've overreacted if they have some playoff success (or he has personal success). They have a decent enough D that's starting to jell. They really should have an almost unstoppable O; having spent so much money on it. It's just a feeling I have that he (more than Kellen Moore or Sirianni) is what's holding it back. Maybe I'm listening to too much WIP.

He’s missed quite a few plays. Despite the long ball to AJ for the TD he put up less then stellar passing #s but didn’t need it with Barkley consistent running. He missed Smith on one play and Barkley another. Hurts leaves a lot of plays on the field and the sack in the first half he had, that ball should’ve been out.

The hurts gate is more or less he’s being corner stone franchise Elite QB $$$ and really had yet to live up to that contract and not just that but has regressed since then too. If this was Huntley instead of hurts I’d say he did the job he had to today.

To be fair to Hurts:

The money is an NFL problem....not an Eagles problem. Teams are going to have to pay elite $$$ for borderline/not elite QBs. One might get lucky with a rookie or get a resurgent Baker, Geno or Darnold (who himself will be getting elite money next year)...but the reality is that if you have an NFL QB you feel is a starter; you're going to have to pay him elite money or start over.

It's not like the Eagles couldn't get a haul for Hurts if they wanted to move on from him.

I don't know what they'd get for him now. I wouldn't take him if I was rebuilding or on the cusp of a rebuild.....nor if I had an established starter that I liked...or liked enough for the price I was paying him.

NYJ, TEN, CLE, LVR, SEA, TAM, NOR, CAR, MIN, NYG, IND would/should all have interest in Hurts. The Raiders stick out as a team that would hop all over Hurts if he was available in the offseason. Plus, they have more than enough cap space to add him. It's all moot, the Eagles aren't trading him at least for another year or two.
