Eagles vs. Ravens Preseason Gm. 1 (1 Viewer)

As an Eagle fan living in Baltimore, I'll try to provide as much info as I can on both squads. Things I'll be specifically looking at:

Eagles

1. How do the WRs look? Can Curtis translate camp success to the game? Jason Avant in the slot?

2. Tony Hunt as the short yardage back?

3. The entire DL, especially Bunkley and Abiamiri

4. The LBs, especially the competition on the strong side (Gocong, Bradley, Tank)

5. The TEs now that LJ Smith is iffy. Brent Celek has been looking good.

6. Rookie QB Kevin Kolb playing the entire second half

7. Jeremy Bloom in the return game

8. Punter battle baby!

Ravens

1. Mark Clayton ready to take the next step?

2. Willis McGahee

3. Todd Heap healthy for once?

4. McNair more comfortable in the offense?

5. Replacements for Adalius

6. Heisman Trophy Winner Troy Smith

Will also take requests!

Eagles have a Pro Bowl roster worth of players not in uniform tonight

McNabb (AJ Feeley gets the start)

Brian Dawkins

Shawn Andrews

Lito Sheppard

Ian Scott

Montae Reagor

Bloom looking a little tentative on the opening return.

Feeley to Curtis on first down for 8 yards

AJ Feeley almost gets killed on 3-12 by Ray Lewis, but slips Ray Lewis' tackle and picks up 8.

Sensational punt by D. Johnson inside the Ravens 5

Gocong crushes McNair, but pass is completed to Heap for a first down

and then another nice tackle on the next play

Darren Howard with nice pressure and a hit on McNair

Cole kills McNair, but hits Sypniewski (TE) for the TD

No way McNair lasts if he's getting hit like this

And Brent Celek makes himself heard with an 8 yard catch from Feeley

But Schobel answers picking up the first down on 3-2

On 3 and 5 on the Ravens' 25, Feeley's pass is knocked down.

Akers kick is no good. Didn't see who was holding. But it didn't look clean

Bloom will get his first punt return after Mikell knocks down the 3rd down pass.

Clean catch. Made a guy miss. Picked up 10 or so.

Eagles - 5 rushes 11 yards = music to my ears :headbang:
Shawn Andrews will make a difference. And most Run Ds don't play like the Ravens.
Very true...but I'm enjoying this while I can. What is the update on Andrews, just an ankle sprain?
He had pain in the ankle that he had surgically repaired two years ago. Nothing showed up on the MRI. Reports are positive, but I don't like the sounds of it.

Watch out for LB Antoine Barnes the Ravens 4th round pick out of FIU. Heard good things about his camp and now he gets a sack on Holcomb

If Clayton is truly backed by Demetrius and ol man Mason by Devard Darling and Yamon Figurs....I'd like to know how Figurs looks playing WR, can't be hard to hop over Darling on the depth chart

I saw McGahee had a nice carry, but aside from that 3 for 4 yards.

How did he look.

I hope he's used in the passing game this year. He'd be good on screens. Bills never used him much there.

Also interested in Avant vs. Bloom

Reggie Brown as well

Hows Eagles D looking? Other than the fact they let up a TD on the first drive?
Secondary looks bad, but 1/2 the starters not out there (Sheppard and B-Dawk)
I don't know if it was the secondary. A lot of the catches were by tight ends which I'll blame on the LBs. Considine was late on the TD pass.
One catch was a slow developing rollout by Heap after matching up on Kearse. Bad coverage behind him - no LB in sight. No S either.

I don't think it's Avant vs. Bloom. Bloom has a role as KR/PR. The competition is between Avant, G. Lewis, and Baskett

Agree that he was holding the ball too long. But I sitting here thinking to myself on a few plays that #74 just looks terrible. Than I realized it was Justice.
