Early Drafting Leagues (1 Viewer)

We are drafting early this week instead of the week before the season starts. I wanted to get some inputs on some steals that can be had now based on current ADP that we will look back on at the end of pre-season as great value.Suggestions?

Hines Ward is a WR that seems to be going very late as a starting WR.

At RB it looks like Torain/Hightower and Beanie/Williams could be had at a significant value depending on who you like.

Players going late ive noticed:

M. Ingram

J. Jones

J. Maclin (iffy with mystery illness)

M. Tolbert (there is no reason why this guy shouldnt be everyones RB4)

D. Williams

P. Manning

V. Davis

M. Williams (Tampa)

S. Johnson

Deangelo Williams is one that really catches my eye. Carolina threw a ton of money at him and not long ago he was a 1st rounder.

Hes seriously underrated this season.

I don't want to derail the thread, but I don't see how he is under-rated. Despite the ludicrous contract, he's still in a RBBC with both Stewart and Goodson and won't sniff anything near 275 carries. He's had season-ending injuries the past two years, and his team will likely be awful again this year. And he's going in the late-3rd to late-4th round in PPR leagues from what I can see. Not seeing any value to be had there.

Id say Olsen, Boss, Roy Williams, Hightower, Stafford, Ryan, Romo, possibly Maclin if he keeps falling, Jacoby Ford, Tolbert, Sproles, Dez Bryant in certain cases, Collie, Watson, danario alexander, lee evans, moore...

Moore??

Mario Manningham WR NYG - Hot finish, No more Steve Smith, will never be doubled with that monster on the other side

Lance Moore WR NO - Reports out of camp are real good, Colston and Meacham are having issues.

Jeremy Kerley WR Jets - Kid is quick quick quick. Moreso if your league is PPR

Fred Davis TE Wash - Already showed he can play under the lights. Came into camp in tip top. News getting worse by the day on Cooley. Grossman wasn't gross this weekend.

Amendola WR STL - I know hes not really gonna be available too late, but could be a monster in PPR this year.

Chad Johnson (no longer Ocho-Cinco) WR NE - Another one not sooo late but if he stays healthy in New England he'll catch 10

Montario Hardesty RB CLE - Talent coming out of his eyelids, Im "hoping" that they are just being cautious. Ill take a flier.

Danarius Moore WR OAK- Read anything

Jared Cook TE TEN - Floor, very low. Ceiling, VERY HIGH

Greg Olsen TE CAR - Finally! Someone is going to use him, ALOT. Got to admit, Newton didn't look terrible.

Marcus Easley WR BUF - Raiving reviews from players over the summer. Evans is gone, youth movement. David Nelson could also emerge. (Steve Johnson is bigger and stronger? Yikes!)

AJ Green WR CIN - Uncoverable, don't care whose throwin to him, especially when they are getting stomped.

Lance Kendricks and Julius Thomas - Move tight end revolution continues. Young tight ends have shown they can ball now that they don't have to block.

Reggie Bush - Might be the cheapest you'll ever see him again, or maybe the most expensive. Looks like he's atleast gonna get his shot.

Darren Sproles - People are drunk on Ingram, love him but he IS a rookie, not seeing sproles. Sproles and Turf love eachother.

Not sure about Hines Ward. Between Wallace, Sanders, Miller and Brown, gonna be tough to get serviceable looks.

Great info. Love Manningham but what round do you need to get him at a value, seems to be moving up. I am debating waiting on a TE and gambling on Olsen as my TE, is he a legit starter this year?Who else do you guys like?

Will Ford be worth a roster spot with all the WR's they have and a bad QB? Is Alexander the #2 in STL or 3 after MSW and Amendola?

In a draft I had yesterday where RBs get a point every 4 carries he went 48th overall. Week before that he went 65th overall. Im not suggesting hes a top 10 back, I am suggesting he will put up top 15 numbers (which is earlier than his draft spot).

He only needed 273 carries to put up 1,515 rushing yards in 2008. The guy can do quite a bit of damage with 15 carries and 2 or 3 receptions a game. Just saying..Carolina has a top 5 offensive line in the NFL with Jeff Otah in the lineup. They will run the ball, and likely run it very effectively. DeAngelo in the 4th round? Severely underrated.

Ford is worth a later pick, but if he's not involved early, can be cut. The other OAK WRs are not really that good, (I'm holding judgement on Moore given that the same beat writers that are talking him up are the same guys who talked up Murphy two years ago and completely missed on Ford last year). The new HC, Hue Jackson, showed some real creativity last year as the OC in getting guys like Ford, McFadden and even Reece in positions to maximize their skills. But the specter (literally and figuratively) of Al Davis looms, who has shown he will interfere with how his vanity picks like DHB will be used. For STL, I'd only spend a redraft pick on Amendola or MSW. And the moment MSW has a good game, I'd trade him.
