Eddie Royal on trading block (1 Viewer)

Thoughts on where he might end up and his value?

Both ESPN's Adam Schefter and ProFootballTalk.com report the Broncos have made Eddie Royal available ahead of Tuesday's trade deadline.Royal has been out with a groin injury since Week 2, but is expected to be ready for Week 7. Slowed by injury, the former second-round pick has just 100 catches for 1,023 yards in 32 games since his exceptional rookie season in 2008. The presence of Eric Decker and Demaryius Thomas makes Royal expendable in Denver. Still only 25 years old and a natural slot receiver, Royal could make sense for a receiver-needy team at the cost of a sixth- or seventh-round pick.

would like to see him in Chicago reunited with Cutler - the Bears do not have any professional wide receivers

If Lloyd and Royal get traded what is Decker's value? WR2?
if Lloyd and Royal are traded then Denver is in the 3 year get Luck, let Tebow sell tickets for two years and stock up on talent plan - Decker is a wr3 rest of this year in that plan.

This reminds me of some trade attempts in fantasy leagues I am in. Guy sees someone on his bench that he wants to cut so he offers him + another bench player for 1 of your starters. Who would give up anything for Royal? A 7th rounder maybe...

I wouldn't even give up a 7th for Royal. There's nothing special about him. I think he's a No. 3 WR at best. You can find guys like that without difficulty. I don't see any reason why a team would sacrifice a draft pick of any kind for him.

...which is exactly why the Bears will take him. They need yet another mediocre, underperforming WR to round their stable of WR blech. :bag:

Can anyone weigh in on why Royal looked so dynamic and unstoppable the first half of his rookie season, and has done next-to-nothing since?

I know he's battled injuries, but even when healthy, he hasn't really performed. Have defenses "figured him out"?
