I've had a Braun Series 7 for about 7 years now, still working like a champ. Need to replace the blade once a year. After I made the switch, I haven't looked back. The shave with an actual blade is going to be closer, but for me the difference is negligible.
I don't have sensitive skin and my beard doesn't come in thick at all. I use it dry - for me it's quicker and easier and the difference in closeness is so small.
Ive had the same electric razor for a long time. Actually just saw Braun has a new one out (Series 9) bc of this thread, might be time for an upgrade.
I just bought the Phillips one blade. Not very close, but I don't want it close. Decent shave, no irritation. Nothing fancy, but does the trick for me.

Thinking of making the switch to electric. Does anyone know if they make a wet/dry that you can adjust the shave. Are they adjustable so you can set it so you just clean up stubble?
