Eli Manning (1 Viewer)

Questions like that seem to depend on the league. As a backup in the 14th round, I'd take him. As my #1? hopefully not.

Does anyone else feel like he's a great value pick with his ADP being in the 9th round?
It looks like I may be in the minority on this one, but for leagues that do not count against for INT's, I think he has a ton of value. Considering no more Tiki, and a relatively suspect defense, I have to think the guy will throw for Yards and TD's. He may not be clutch, but he will have some numbers (3200+ yards and 24+ TD's assuming last years numbers).

i'm having a hard time figuring out which tier to slot him in; being a manning hater and an eagles fan, i'm concerned about objectivity. ;)

i can see him passing more this year without Tiki, but my leagues penalize 2 pts/interception, which has me wary...

i definitely don't want him as my #1 and can't see looking at him before round ten.

I think media coverage in New York has a lot to do with Manning being hit hard. I'm looking at Drew Brees and comparing the 02-05 stats to Manning's past two years and they are very similar. Obviously last year Brees blew Manning out of the water but he has been in the league longer and has more experience.

Look at Brees' first two years as a starter and compare them to Manning's first full two years of 05-06. Manning's accomplishments are more than that of Brees statistically.

Keep in mind, my argument isn't comparing these two QB's as NFL quality but for fantasy quality, I think they are very similar. If Manning can reduce the amount of interceptions by a few then he's a quality #1 QB in my opinion. He's a consistent QB that will at least get you a td every game, if not multiple. Honestly, the only thing I see that is a negative to him personally as a fantasy QB is his consistency at throwing the INTS. Perhaps that will come with more experience as it seems to have done for Brees.
