Eli's worth (1 Viewer)

Giants fan here and, like most fans, I like to play GM with my buddies. We are in a minor debate as to what the trade value of Eli would be right now if he were to be traded for draft picks.

Is he still worth a high #1? Would the market now just give up a second rounder for him?

I realize, of course, that it depends on the teams, who is picking where, needs, etc... I'm just asking, is it still reasonable to think that the Giants could get a first rounder for him?

Yes, absolutely. The Giants problems run much deeper than Eli Manning. Hes still a young gifted QB.

I feel he's worth maybe a 2nd/3rd rounder talent-wise, but he's still got the Manning name and always will so I could maybe see some short-sighted organizations like the Raiders, Lions, Browns,etc.. giving up a 1st if they need QB help.

I don't think it matters what his worth is, the Giants are not about to trade him away.He is young and it obvious that the Giants think he is the QB of the future.I say obvious because of the ridiculous trade they made to get him. They won't give up on him after only 3 seasons

the guy gets absolutely ZERO protection. his WR"s are HORRIBLE!! and all his TE does his ##### and moan and say, "look at my lovely hair!!"

Manning's future depends on what the Giants do around him.

The bloom is off the rose, certainly. In NY, rumors have been swirling for months that Manning has a drinking problem (my buddies and I used to joke that he was so good in the 4th quarter b/c that's when he was starting to sober up), and whatever other physical attributes he possesses, he just doesn't seem accurate on short and intermediate routes.

That said, you won't be able to get a QB with Manning's abilities or potential in the middle part of the 1st round. If the Giants were interested in trading him, he would be worth a top-10 pick. They won't though - they'll get a new coach first.

Fellas, I am not trying to debate whether or not the Giants SHOULD trade him, if they WILL trade him, or any other concerns about the talent around him. I am just trying to gauge how his market value has dropped in the past two years.

Compared to other QBs he was drafted with, his value is arguably lower than that of Rivers, Ben and Losman, which is a scary thought from a fans perspective, considering what we gave up to get him.

He is worse than every starting QB in the NFL. On that bad snap he didn't even try to pick it up...he just kinda swatted at it half-azzed. Not a clue out there....no heart, no desire, no talent (ok very little) Must be the name on the back of the jersey, is the only thing I can figure. Even the TD to Burress was a crippled duck thrown 10 yards behind him.

Eli Manning doesnt seem to have the personality that indicates drinking problem unless he is a closet drinker or something. He just seems to have 0 leadership. As they say, he has no Moxie. Someone else said it, "He is a #####." I dont think he will ever reach a Pro Bowl level (which doesnt even take that much in the NFC).

I do remember somebody posted pictures a while ago of Eli hanging out w/ Shockey, completely trashed. Likewise with Grossman.
