England becoming a Caliphate. US next (1 Viewer)

Gotcha, somewhat.

Before i took my hiatus from FFA in the spring of '13, i was on quite a bit about our societal problems being rooted in having offered personal freedom to such a great portion of our population - women, non-whites, alternative lifestylers - while simultaneously disposing of, ignoring or revolutionizing three of the four pillars of society - family, parish, community, state - by which we kept the order. The math on that just dont work and I think we're seeing a lot of it coming home to roost.

I'll check out this "Bowling Alone" and if you got stuff of more recency and a minimum of tubthumping, i'll be interested to look at it. I was out of the loop for a long time in order to work on a project, and the ######## Olympics of our last political season keeps me from joining the fray. I'm a card-carrying, pinkass, Eskimo Sexcommie, but i'm so far left i'm right on a lot of things, so let thought fly. You start pimpin, tho, you'll hope i evaporate.
See, I really agree on the bolded, so we're two for two.  I was bringing up Russell Kirk and Trump in here not too long ago, and from my limited understanding, Kirk had a great sense of order and what it meant in society. We're a liberationist society (which actually appeals to my temperament) and we need those structures in place to check democratic and rights excesses, IMO.

As far as being so far left you're right on things, my friends call me the anti-capitalist capitalist, so I have the same issues about being so far invested on a certain subject that it completes the circle instead of making it points on a line.  I'll try and find articles on anti-federalism and social capital and how important they are. I know the two best scholars are Herbert J. Storing for the former and Alexis de Tocqueville for the latter. I'll do a quick search and see if I can't turn up anything.

I don't think I'll start pimping, by the way. I think you've written two things I really agree with and would try and find good source material. I'll be posting in here throughout the week.

Storing's basic theory on anti-federalism can be laid out here, from pages 15-18 (I have the book, but it's still in boxes from the move I made) https://books.google.com/books?id=CqIow0iRuEQC&pg=PA15&source=gbs_toc_r&cad=2#v=onepage&q&f=false

Where are all the Lefties today?  The silence is deafening.
I'm not a leftie but the attack in Sweden has zero impact on my opinion of Muslims. If you want to find an actual trait that greatly increases the chances of committing a violent act, it's sadly a lot simpler than Islam. There seems to be something inherently wrong with many males. White, black, Christian, Muslim, left, right, rich, poor, etc. It doesn't matter where you look, you will always find males   have  drastically higher rates of violent crime, reoccurring crimes, etc.

I think it might be power. We've had very few females in power, but when they are in power, they tend to be as brutal as the males. They just take a more limited and passive role in extralegal matters, it seems.

But even at the low level, the mall shooter, serial killer, gang hit, terror bombing, what % are carried out by women?

Very few, proportionally.

It's the old gender gap argument and the inherent nature of differences between men and women, which gets wrapped up in a politics all in itself and hoo boy...not on Friday.

One on hand, you'll get women arguing for the gender gap when it suits their political needs.

On the other hand, you'll get those stupid "women who run with the wolves" books so popular to the set that doesn't believe in gender differences when it doesn't suit them.

There's likely truth to both, it's just highly politicized.

No prob Ded.

Actually, it was just a lamely subtle attempt at humor...like your shirt.

;)
Boy, that David Hume was a wrecking little ####er, huh?

Don't worry about it too much. There is a dude in CA typing to you at this moment in time. He's wearing a Deftones shirt, and sweating like waste and glands never got together and played Reese's like they are now, for some reason.

Turn on the AC, the party's just starting!

Just flipped the AC on...you...me...we...should be feelin' it soon. ;)

:lmao:  Loving the back and forth conversation between rockaction and wikkidpissah, as they compete with each other to come up with quotes by European philosophers, rock performers, obscure film references, all contained in meandering sentences which makes no sense to anybody except maybe each other, but which are very entertaining to read. Awesome!

Glad I can at least entertain.

Oh, and the sentences do meander in their own way, huh?

;)

There is no "least" about it, amigo.

Entertaining is a top-shelf skill in my reality.

Further, when it educates as well (provided one has the maneuvering skills to meander ;)  ), its a double dipped ice-cream cone.

Yummy!

Who would have guessed you would be a sharia law apologist .
It's incredible isn't it?  Notice he didn't answer my simple questions either.

Well you and the rest of the well meaning Left need to hear this woman.  She knows more about Islam than any of us, and she is speaking directly to each Lefty in here.

Dude, she's around for any -- and I mean any -- well-meaning leftist to hear. This isn't about intellectual honesty. It's about duplicity and useful idiots. Never forget that.

She's an atheist after what she went through but atheists hate her.

I don't understand the ideological contortions required to deny her message. i'm glad I don't. I would never want to be that partisan or that muddled of a thinker.

Do I like atheism? No. Do I understand her position? Yes. Do I think it advances Christendom in modern America and the West? Maybe. Does that bother me? No. Not considering the alternative.

Hey Lefty sexist Sharia apologists - I've got another gem for you.  Just saw this week's VICE episode - a great view of Sharia Law taking hold in the the world's most populace Muslim country - Indonesia.  The Province of Aceh is now under Sharia Law, where nightly raids are being conducted looking for horrible crimes being committed.  You know - things like playing dominoes, wearing jeans that are too tight, homosexuality, unmarried couples getting too close to each other in public, and the worst crime of all, which will get you stoned to death after being partially buried in a public road - adultery.  72% of the Muslims in Indonesia support the expansion of Sharia Law into the rest of the country.  Looks like it is only a matter of time before Indonesia's proud history of secularism comes to an end.  The attached video isn't the VICE episode - that one was actually a lot more horrifying.  https://youtu.be/r7lFLKgizQE

Enjoy the video guys!  And even sure to take time out to reflect glowingly on your virtuous tolerance.  The world is such a better place with you in it.
