was looking at Denver's preseason stats and noticed he had 8 for about 115 and a Td....I wonder in a ppr league could he be a nice bench player for bye week fill in? I wonder if he will be the # 2 over Eddie royal?

 
I don't think so. Decker is a good slot/possession type receiver, but he is the WR3/4 on this team no question. If Royal can stay healthy, I think he is going to have a decent year. Denver was using Eddie sometimes on punt returns last year and I just cringed evey time he got hit.

In your league there have to be alot better options for bye week receiver fill ins than Decker I am guessing.

I am a big Decker fan and I think he will eventually be the #2 on Denver but probably not this year. I just had to drop him from my 22 man roster in a dynasty league, I really wanted to keep him but I still think his time might be 2 or 3 years out.
 
Good rapport with Orton. Orton looks for him on third down and got the hands and size for the red zone. IMO if he and Orton stay healthy Decker will surprise people.

I've been flipping through the comments and the stats and reports on the WW WR's out there who might emerge.... and Decker keeps popping up.Underperforming run game: Makes no sense because it's Fox but the run game seems down, and now Moreno is out.Positive comments from QB:http://www.denverpost.com/broncos/ci_18907644Part of last year's draft class, not a rookie. Denver may be throwing to catch up from behind.Orton is throwing.Decker comes into the game vs OAK and puts up 3 catches for 53 or so in the 4th quarter alone.Nobody else stepping up in the Denver WR rotation after Lloyd.He's shown ability. This might happen.

Since August, every time I've had the misfortune of watching a Broncos game, this kid has jumped out at me. He's blessed with a great size/speed combo and, more importantly, seems to possess an indomitable will to succeed. It's more than just hustle; seems like he really believes that he is going to be one of the best receivers in the league. I'll bet on that.

 
I would keep an eye on Decker. Royal have disappointed every year except for his rookie year, Decker good be the reliable alternative

+1 with everything you said...noticed him while watching him at Minnesota (up until his H.A.S??), stood out head and shoulders above the rest. Been keeping tabs on him ever since and have him on a couple of my teams. He'll definitely find success

One of the players I noticed in the pre season as someone I could see making name. And with Lloyd either out or limited he could start this weekend . I think they already said he will play the slot. Seems he might be the number 2 with how Royal has shown nothing after his rookie year. Picked him up for the bench so if he has a nice game I dont have to fight the WW to get him since I am very weak on WR.

 
I'm not a big fan of handcuffing WRs, but as a Lloyd owner this makes sense. IIRC Denver only had 4 WR's active for the Raiders game. If Lloyd is an afternoon scratch, I'm going to insert Decker. He seems to have the ability and could have the opportunity as well.

I am in the same boat. I blew my auction money on Foster and Rodgers! It helps that it is a limited return league in that you get 6 for return TD's and 1 pt after you accrue 125 return yards. I like him though. He has good size and that Jordy Nelson type feel to him.
 
I am happy. I hope he continues doing well. With Royal out with a groin to, he should get plenty of opportunity. Man if he hadn't hand that fumble, I would be as happy as a pig in slop!

 
WOW . Glad I grabbed him. Believe it or not he becomes my #1 WR now. I got 0 from my three today. M Williams-B Edwards-Plaxico. and my bench is Jacoby Ford and now decker. Sad but true.

If Lloyd misses more time it appears Decker can easily be plugged in. But don't expect goose eggs from those other guys you mentioned every week. It's just another strange week in the NFL.

For me, I think he is 1B with Wayne as 1A. Less upside for Wayne at this point with Collins. I will win today thanks in part to Decker.
 
He's kind of an enigma at this point. Lloyd is a great player. I'm going to go through his targets on NFL rewind and get a better idea.

I do know Orton called him something along the lines of "the ultimate slot receiver" last week. So the real winner here might be Orton if he can continue to utilize Decker and Lloyd when he returns. Also, don't forget that Thomas will be back in at some point. Tough to figure out.

On the other hand, he might be one of those guys you plug in based on matchups.

 
I am ecstatic with what Decker did as I had to plug him in for Lloyd in two leagues (I know you all care deeply about my teams) but the fact is he did all of this because Lloyd was out, or at least that is what I imagine. I don't expect this to be replicated often with Lloyd in the game but perhaps because of this game he has earned himself some more looks. It will be interesting to see how it plays out, but I am guessing this week will not be standard for Decker.

Thomas is coming off yet another serious injury to his leg. Who's to say he still has the speed that made him a first round pick to begin with? The Broncos aren't married to Thomas. He's a McDaniels guy... At this point I don't think he's a consideration.
 
He's the real deal guys. I've watched him since U of MN and he would have three guys draped on him, everyone knew the ball was going to Deck, and he would go up and get it.

He's also been working with Larry Fitz every year since Fitz does the workouts at the U.

Decker was a total stud at Minnesota, and had he been on a real college team he would have gone a lot higher when drafted. Kid has all the hallmarks of a dependable possession guy with big play ability. He'll be a solid WR2/3 if given the opportunity.

 
Decker or Nelson? Nelson as the #2 in Buffalo will get lots of targets. Will Decker get that many as the #2 in Denver (assuming Lloyd is back next week)? And what happens if (when) TT becomes the QB?

Put "true stud" in context. Better than who? Where do you rank him going forward? Top 20?

i was going to post something similar if it wasn't here already...

i know waldman was very high on him...

just a question of opportunity... if he keeps playing like this, he seems destined to increasingly force his way onto the field...

the second TD against CIN did look like a poor job of tackling in the secondary, but he did make a good play on the ball and had the presence to extend the play into a TD... and he had two other TDs in first two weeks (kickoff return week one)...

lot to like about him... best attribute might be his hands, which are silky smooth with vise-like strength (might be among best in the league), natural pass catcher, he has overall outstanding ball skills capable of making spectacular and acrobatic catches (field awareness, body control, positioning, timing, high point ability, toughness and competitiveness)... and he is flashing sneaky speed, deceptive explosiveness and dangerous RAC skills that i have to admit i didn't know he had in him, based on some of the collegiate highights i saw... not ponderous or lumbering, has some quick twitch and can get downfield...

agree you can see him quickly earning the trust of orton, and it isn't like the broncos are overflowing with playmaking talent on the offensive side of the ball, so there may not be much standing in the way of him asserting himself to a greater degree sooner than later...

big upside... imo, he is a legit talent and has the goods to be a future top 20-30 WR, with upside...

He's one of those guys that is so solid with his skill set that it makes up for not having Jacoby Ford like speed, or Dez Bryant like size. He's quick enough to gain separation and that's all that really matters. He runs very good routes, attacks the ball at it's highest point, has a knack for settling into open holes in zone and physical enough at the LoS to get off on man-bump. Just a really impressive skill set that he's obviously put a ton of work into. In summation a perfect slot guy that is big enough to split wide.

That's the real question. How will opportunity play out. He has all the talent to put up top 10 numbers, with Lloyd out. With Lloyd healthy I'd still put him top 20-25, and I don't think it causes Lloyd's numbers to suffer a lot either. They're a better team with him on the field.
 
Top 20 - 25 WR you couldn't ask for anything better from a waiver pickup. With the number of hamstring and groin injuries this year due to short preseason Decker is the type of player that could lead a team to a championship.
