I don't see E Sims very often. He's had a decent year but I came away very disappointed today. I thought he had an awful game. I counted at least 4 missed tackles, not to mention taking bad angles on some plays which prevented him from even touching the Packers receiver after a catch. He had a nice hit on Favre in a near sack that ended up an incomplete pass, but that was about it. :)

I knew the matchup wasn't good going into the game. It was a putrid game for him (3 solos, 1 PD).

This was not a good match-up for Sims this week. The Packers threw 40+ times with the majority of those passes going to the strongside away from Sims. He had one good blitz opportunity that came from the blind side when the Packers went 5 wide. Green bay also went with muliple 4 and 5 WR sets and only ran the ball 15 times. Also in a weird turn of events the Lions controlled the ball on offense holding the edge in time of possesion by almost 10 minutes.

Sims is an aggressive active linebacker with all the tools. It is his aggressiveness that has him taking the occasional bad angle or over pursuing.

I understand the multiple reasons why he had a bad statistical game (Packers passing all game) and was somewhat expecting it, but for the first time of the season I could see something beyond just the box score, and I wanted to point out that he had an awful game regardless of what the box score and regardless of whether this was a bad matchup on paper or not. Even if the matchup is bad, there is no excuse for missing so many tackles.

I agree, this was the 2nd time i had seen him play this year, and I had just got him in a trade, and he missed several tackles in that game. No excuse for missing tackles and taking bad angles regardless of who you are playing, and the GB receivers are not bad, but it's not like they got T.O. and Boldin out there who are big and fast, I saw him let Driver go twice.
