ESPN draft question (1 Viewer)

Radio Free Homer

Footballguy
So I'm in a league that's drafting Saturday and everyone in the league is meeting at our buddy's bar for the draft. Unfortunately, your GB Homer is summering in The Hamptons (lol) and will be the only one not in attendance.

I'm hoping there's a way that just the commissioner can log on and enter the picks and that I can see them in real time. Like, run it through the "online draft" but the only people actually logged on will be me and the commish. I truly truly HATE doing a draft over the phone so I'm trying to avoid this at all costs.

Anyone know how this would work? I know it's easy with MFL's live draft, but I'd like to be sure this works with ESPN's format.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Not sure if it's possible. But I wouldn't put this on a commish. As a commish myself it's no fun doing your own draft plus something like thus on the side. Find a friend to go for you that can enter the picks in a chat window at the very least.

Can the rest of the league just bring laptopsand do the whole thing on the ESPNsoftware, even though they are in the same room.

My main league does that. Works great with some folks not being able to make it.

I'd like this to happen, but there are more than a few technologically limited individuals in the league...to put it gently. As for putting it on the commish, it's my brother. Plus, it'll save him the effort in putting all the rosters in later...pretty easy to just click with every pick. There are 2 other guys that will be doing the "Big Board" at the live draft.

You could just skype or facetime with your brother's laptop pointed towards the big board. It would be pretty similar to being there...

Plus, they would get to partake in all my witty comments!!!!

Don't use ESPN, but my league uses MFL which lets the commish control the draft if needed. A laptop is connected to the big screen TV and when picks are made the owner (or commish for tech disadvantaged) can enter them from their laptop and they show up on the TV. Also worked well when someone was out of town since they could make their picks via online.

I hate to bump, but just wanted to see if anyone else knows the ESPN draft well.
If you're talking about the commish loading all the picks in the draft software in real time, I'm think it's either not possible or a huge PITA.If the commish can change picks, I think he's got to wait until they are made, pause the draft, then change them.I don't think he can just go make picks for everyone. I could be wrong, but I don't think he can.If the Skype thing won't work, you might try Google Docs. I've done a draft and an auction on Google Docs. You can just make a spreadsheet and have your brother enter each pick in as it's made. Unless I'm wrong about the ESPN software, I think that's your best bet.
