ESPN - NFL LIVE - ALL TIME LOW (1 Viewer)

Herm Edwards is a nice guy.

However he was an awful coach, and as as an analyst...eh, not so good either.

NFL Live did a segment today with zero analysis and less substance. It generally made me feel uncomfortable to a point where I got nauseous. I felt really bad for good ole' Herm.

It made "C'mon man" look genious.

If I find a link, I'll post, but all I can say is.....wow....

I pray none of you saw it.

Notch another one in the books

makes you wonder whos dumber... herm edwards or the 2 different GMs that hired him to coach their teams?

this is the same network that created the "Heat Index" to follow the Miami Heat wherever they go. Funny to think they were once the little engine that could that actually had a lot of soul.

Herm Edwards hit his peak as a DB position coach. Your emotion and overstatement can play well there, and I'm sure he had good insight on DB technique. Aside from emotion he offers nothing as a team leader from the head coaching spot, and I couldn't even imagine him being a competent DC. Brains ain't his forte'.

I find ESPNEWS is the only channel that I can stand anymore from them. It gets to the point of what I want. All the rest of it is fluff.

Really, the only pregame show I can watch anymore is ESPN's Sunday fantasy show. It moves fast, hits injuries every 10 minutes, goes around to each stadium & talks to reporters from a FF perspective, and doesn't have a bunch of "up close & personal" stuff followed by 5 minutes of indecipherable analysis. The actual FF advice is pretty generic but that's not why I watch - it's the news that makes the show for me. My biggest gripe is that they got rid of Molly Qorum - insanely hot Injury Chick - for a more generic, blond Injury Chick (still pretty fine, though).

It comes on ESPN2 at 11:30 ET if you want something a little different.

As others have said, ESPNEWS is about the only thing on that network of programs that is remotely watchable anymore, but they just played the Herminator skit a few minutes ago - good God was that awful. Even worse, they said part two is coming soon! :X

ESPN flat out sucks, especially with that blowhard Berman leading the parade......

Is this the same show where the lady reporter in N.O. told me not to count on T.Gonzalez this week because he would be mostly blocking...? :X But yeah, I agree. It's good for news and injury updates on Sunday morning when you need them most.

I saw it and it was truly terrible. Herm was basically dressed in some pimp outfit with shades and going through a list of underperforming players, talking in a funky voice, and saying whether the player will get better or stay the same (forgot what phrase he kept using for both).

But, it was pretty bad and embarrassing for Herm.

What was the subject of the discussion?
Trey Wingo brought up all 5 teams that are 0-3 individually...talked about them for a bit, then cut shot to Herm in a leather jacket and sunglasses. He would then say one sentence about why he does or doesn't think that team is still in contention for a playoff spot and then said either "The _________ are HERMINATED from playoff contention." or "They'll be back."It was awful and I think it took over 5 minutes to do something they could have talked about in a couple of minutes.

Yep, that's it. Forgot that it was teams, and not players. It was still very bad.

:goodposting: I just deleted a bunch of Herm Bashing I was about to do - But, I've done it plenty over the years.Seems like a great guy - Was just NEVER a FOOTBALL LIFER - A guy who strived to be a coach from early on... He was in the right place at the right time. But, yeah, DB coach is his limit - Though he Might make a good college coach.

Anybody ever see a movie that was so bad it was funny? That's how I thought about the segment. I was actually laughing but that doesn't mean I think they should try to do that again.

Paul Blart: Mall Cop

Not that I actually have to pile on, but I will in the hopes that someone from ESPN happens upon this thread, but the Herminator was the worst segment I've ever seen anywhere.

Yup. I'm starting to think Mike Singletary is the second coming of Herm Edwards. An intense guy, a great motivator, but someone who just doesn't understand the x's and o's of what it takes to build/create a winning football team.

Pimp outfit? I am guessing you don't get the reference to The Terminator?
