Everything But The Kitchen Sink . . . Literally (1 Viewer)

Looking for help with a kitchen sink. We have standard size counter tops. 24 inches. We had a 33 x 22 drop in sink that we wanted to replace. Sounds easy enough.

Except new sinks these days have a welded metal frame just inside the lip of the sink. Our old sink didn't have that.

We have a small drawer right under the sink that extends roughly 4 inches inside the cabinet to stick in sponges, gloves, dish towels, etc. Standard sinks these days with the metal sub-frame used to help support the sink as I just mentioned require the cut out in the kitchen cabinet to be 21.25 to 21.75 inches in order to have room for the sink.

Doing the math, if we used every possible inch available, we only have 20 inches of space left where the drawer is. Yet we need a hole 21.25 inches. We've tried three different sinks and they won't fit.

Since our old sink didn't have the welded attached frame, all that had to happen was a hole large enough for the basins to fit in, as the lip of the sink would sit on the counter top. So a 22 inch width sink only needed a cut out in the counter top of 18 inches.

Any suggestions? Where would we get a sink that will fit? Are there ways to get one of the newer sinks in the space we have available and I am missing out how to do it? Does anyone know where that would carry the older style sinks that don't have the welded metal frame?

Will we have to scrap the drawer to be able to get a sink? Even without the drawer, given the construction of the cabinet, we might not be able to come up with a hole large enough to drop the sink in. Help!

Thanks. Home Depot seems to have more options than other places. Had already found the second one you listed.
