Hello all,
I am looking to find a well established, active, and competitive dynasty league. I prefer leagues that are 14 teams or more, use IDP, and do NOT use PPR. I am fine with entry fee leagues of any amount really (provided the league is established and I will not have to worry about any "scam"), but also have no problem with free leagues that only play for pride, once again so long as the league is established and has proven owners who are active (after all, pride and bragging rights are what REALLY matter in fantasy football, not just cash). The more intricate and involved the rule system the better, although I would prefer something semi-standard from a scoring standpoint. I would start a league myself, but given the long term outlook necessary to be successful in dynasty leagues and the chances that a 1st year league could blow up before it ever really gets going, I much prefer to join an already established and successful league that may have an opening. I am posting this now in hopes of finding a home before the end of the 2009 season (or at the very least right at the start of the off-season), so that I have as much time as possible to get acclimated to the other members and to make moves with my team.
I am a football fanatic (at least as much as I can be without i hurting my real life), having not missed a Sunday of watching football in many, many years (most times at a bar, in order to view all games instead of flip channels, which increases my ability to "scout" players). I happen to have a job that pays me way too much for way too little work, leaving me free to spend more than enough time on football related topics, both fantasy and real, during the workday, as well as ample time outside of work. I tend to find myself well ahead of the curve in terms of fantasy football knowledge and generally am able to identify future stars far earlier than most, thanks in part to my equal love of college football (which I also watch religiously and do much studying and ranking of players before they even enter the draft). While I'm not always right, I have enough knowledge and put in enough work that I am quite positive I could be competitive in any league I join. On top of that, I am looking for a very active league, which means in return I expect myself to be very active all season and off-season.
I have plenty of experience in deep keeper leagues as well as dynasty leagues, so this would not be a new thing to me, I just have never had the pleasure of being involved in a long term dynasty league with continuous owners and low turnover (I am in one big money, deep 6 player keeper league that has been together for 10 years). I am well versed in IDP (we have always used IDP in my keeper league), and am knowledgeable enough that I feel I could succeed in a dynasty league.
