What is the situation with Shaun Alexander and or Cedric Benson. I don't either one is signed what if any are the odds of one or both getting on with a team in need of a RB

SA is waiting for a team to see a starting RB go down long term to injury. I'm not sure Benson will get much chance this year given his wide array of issues. Just my opinion though.

It all has to do with injuries and the upcoming cuts.
I think Alexander has a better chance to get a look than Benson. I would say there is a good chance Alexander plays a snap this year where there is a good chance Benson does not.

I drafted SA 14 in a keeper league, more banking on next year. Anyone know if he's keeping in shape, working out, or just relaxing?

I believe that if a player is on the 53-man roster to begin the year, the team is on the hook for the full year salary even if he is then cut, whereas if a player is signed after the season has begun they are only responsible to pay him for actual games played. I could see teams being a lot more interested in taking a chance on SA after week 1. As for guys like Benson (and Travis Henry too), they are most likely subject to substance-related suspensions if signed, which would limit their availability.

There's a good reason for that. Benson comes with a bottle of Jack and a bad attitude.Alexander comes with a fluffy new prom dress. Slap # 37 on the back of it, and watch him dance up to the line of scrimmage.

Alexander is finished , every GM knows and that s why nobody even called him so far .
Like someone else said he is retired.
Benson would nt even be good enough for the CFL , maybe arena football as a linebacker .

I do not believe that this is true. IIRC, Alexander has tlaked to teams and his price tag has been to high, as was his expectation to want to start.So three things need to happen for SA to get a job:1) he admits he has to fight for carries somewhere2) he lowers his salary demands and takes very low dollars3) a team has a key cog in the backfield gets injuredIf those all happen, I think someone will give him a shot. Whether he will be productive again is a whole other story, but basically that's the outline for where we're at as of today.

NOt to mention you KNOW SA wants a ring. I could see him going to good team to do so. But it's the nfl. When some team loses their stud, they'll call suan.
