FanDuel Week 5 (1 Viewer)

hard not to put up the money for Ryan at $8800 this week at QB,
Why? He won't produce as you think he will this week. btw, I have him on my main team.
$8800 is still cheap. Great matchup against the Redskins and should be a high scoring affair. Add in he has White/Jones/Gonzalez to throw to. Don't think there is a better QB play this week at FanDuel. I also like Rivers and Ponder as well as lesser options but would rather put up the extra money for Ryan.
$8800 is not that cheap. Do you have Atlanta winning this game easily also?Rivers is cheap.

Dodds chose San Fran D in his fanduel article for the week but has Baltimore ranked higher for less money. Anyone know why?

I think Dalton at $8000 is a better value than Rivers or Ryan.

Last week only about 170 people entered the FBG contest, this week it's full at over 500. I wonder why the huge difference from week to week.

LOL, I may lose about 30 leagues today. Hopefully everyone chose the same guys I did.

Who would have guessed Flacco, Ryan, Bowe, R. White, Zuerline, AJ Green would bust in the first half like this?

Hope you guys accepted my matchups.

I'm tanking pretty hard this week. 5 contests, and I might win money in one. Flacco, Dalton, Mike Wallace, Jordy, Roddy, Heath Miller, Giants D, and Steelers D have killed most of my rosters today. I had Matt Ryan and Eli in 2 conetests but the rest of the rosters suck. Lol. The one game I have Brees and Texans D in could place me in money but I'm not holding my breath.

Its a good week when before Foster, S. Graham and Texans D play you already have 150 pts - in practically all your lineups.

I had Cruz and Colston in 2 lineups and still couldn't finish in the money :lmao: :bag:
50/50 games are the way to play. Ive placed in a few tourneys, but its a longshot. Some of the lineups these guys pull out of their backsides is unbelievable. Play the 50/50's where the bottom half pays the top half. Only really decent way to make consistent money.

Yeah I hit the one 50/50 I played in (2nd place w/154pts) but tried to get cute in a few tourneys by starting Dalton in one and Flacco in another. My problem is reading these FD threads and changing out players. Had I stuck with my original lineups I would have done a little better. Still fun though, and Im still ahead for the season.

Looks like I'll lose a little money with the 50/50s but not a terrible weekend. Tight ends killed me as Gates, Graham, Bennett and Finley were all useless. And only played Chicago's D in one league. I'd almost rather a league with no defense and even no kicker just b/c those positions seem more arbitrary and the range in defense production is so large while the prices aren't.

If you started Flacco or Dalton surely you used that extra salary to upgrade elsewhere?

need foster and houston def to step it up tonight for a win
With a big night from the Texans I could place in the $$ in some of the tourneys (talking 20-30 points here).Should win ## in the 50/50s. Flacco, Benson, & Lynch put a damper on what could have been a great lineup.

For me, 50/50's have been the "easiest" money for sure.

In last couple of weeks I've been 7/7 getting paid.

As a little experiment this week, I used the same lineup in 3 different leagues (none higher than $10 buy-in...I'm a low-roller).

AJ Green, Marshall, and Tony G. all did well. I'd also like to thank Herman for my Blair Walsh pick  .

I know it can't be THAT easy, but I should be able to finish in the top half at least 60% of the time....in theory.

In one of my 50/50 the difference between 25th and 26th was .06 points. That would suck if I lost by 1.5 yards passing.

I am absolutely horrible at this.

I started this with the $25 from the FBG promotion and am now down to my last $5. Been playing $5/week in the 20 man leagues and I have yet to win anything despite using this thread to pick a lot of value guys and having really good matchups on paper.

I'm a collective 12-3 in my regular fantasy leagues so it's not like I'm that horrible at picking lineups.

Yeah...on guys like Lynch, ADP, Roddy, Jordy, J Graham, Cruz, Mike Wallace, Foster...in tourneys you can't place if just one player doesn't produce double digits...also, this week none of my defenses scored which is no bueno.Next week Im going heavy on 50/50s, with a couple of cheap tourneys.

So my girlfriend picked the team that is currently #2 for the week 5 footballguys contest. I told her to play Bradshaw and she picked the rest.

I also had a team with Alex Smith/Tony Gonzalez but switched it to Ryan/Pitta at the last minute (against advice from my GF) that would have finished in the money.

The bottom line is that I can eat right and practice hard but she is still way better at this than me.

I agree, large player field tournaments are horrible.50/50s are pretty soft, I prefer 3-5mans they are a little harder but the payouts are obviously much better being winner take all - but very manageable comparatively to large games.

I had a solid week with V. Cruz, B. Marshall, M. Colston and Tony G. Not so great with A. Dalton, A. Peterson, and R. Bush.

I think I'm still like 10th or so in the FBG tourney and doing well with that line-up in a couple of other cheap large tourneys and a few head to heads.

This will be my first profitable week and I'll be up on the year after this.

The score needed to place in 50/50s has gone up every week. This week I was out of the money in a $50 50/50 with 132 points. If this trend continues things could get real rough real quick.

Interesting observation. I've done 4 expert 50/50s (small sample size = YES) and here are the scores needed to finish in the money (I didn't play NFL week 1)NFL week 2- 101.86NFL week 3- 110.52NFL week 4- 118.02 (this was actually a 60k game...so the extra money should guarantee more points in theory)NFL week 5- 119.78Someone with more entries should post their results, as the 4 I have are not nearly enough to draw any conclusions. But this is very interesting, imo.

I've found the 50/50s to be pretty easy as well. I mostly play the 55k leagues, because I think spending a ton of money on 1 player is almost always the wrong move, and the 55k leagues really punish people who do that.

Did a $10 1670 person tourney and got 14th for $150. Less than one point away from 10-14.

Matt Ryan 19.2

Alfred Morris 14

Arian Foster 23.3

Reggie Wayne 33.7

Percy Harvin 27.6

Demaryius Thomas 21.3

Tony Gonzalez 24

Mike Nugent 8

Texans 11

182.90

My highest score was 181.7 :excited: and second highest was 178.7 and another one with 176.18

Overall scores seem to be going higher and higher every week

158.1 needed to place in $ in 2790 entry tourney  $12500 Sun NFL Rush (37 teams with 180+ points) compared to 8 teams last week with 180+

157.42 needed to place in $ in 2790 entry tourney $5K Sun NFL Snap #3 (27 teams with 180+ points compared to 5 teams last week & 148.116 needed to cash)

153.86 needed to place in $ in 1116 entry tourney $2K Sun NFL Snap #4 (9 teams with 180+ points)

emge, do you just pick a corps of 3-4 players to put on all of your teams and then fill in the rest differently?
Ikinda, but not really, I try to avoid having a single player on ALL my teams. If any of those players gets hurt or has a bad week, then all your teams are ruined. But I might do that for a group of contests, for example all 1pm sunday only 50/50s might have the same QB... usually only do that when there aren't enough players I like
