I'll start it off. 14-team 5x5 roto. I sold the farm last season because I was in a close battle for first (I ended up finishing in second). I still managed to retain a keeper squad consisting of what I thought was a decent nucleus:

Chris Davis :goodposting:

Alexei Ramirez :D

Russell Martin :D

C.C. Sabathia :D

James Shields :hot:

My first pick (7th overall) was Chase Utley. My second pick was Ichiro :hot: . My third was Jermain Dye :hot: :hot: .

I have zero wins. My only two saves are from Brad Ziegler (Kerry Wood and Joel Hanrahan are MIA).

I'm in last place by almost 30 POINTS!

2ND place in a twelve teamer - but will fall fast as injuries piled up in Week 1.

3rd in a 20 teamer - this team is golden...IF we get a timely injury or demotion to Elijah Dukes and Chris Ray...otherwise we are stuck with them until mid-May when the waiver wire opens.

7th...thats right 7th....in an 8 teamer - every pick I made beyond my keepers seems to have blown up. Verlander? Motte? Lackey hurt...Hamels hurt and potentially hurt bad.

To add insult to injury I trade CB Young for C Davis since I am loaded at OF.....so Davis tanks.

Dropped to 8th out of 8 after the first week. Soto and Tex played no small part by missing several games each. My RPS are atrocious - have to start 3 each week and i get to pick between Papelbon, Joba Chamberlain, Todd Wellemeyer, BJ Ryan, and Jason Motte. On the bright side, I picked up the ever-reliable Huston Street to help in the decision making process.Gonna be a long season.

This guy is killing me. I was going to bench him this week, then I thought "he can't be THAT bad, and he gets two starts"...yeah, two starts to absolutely kill any chance I have of taking any pitching categories this week.
 
Meche pitches a great game. Allows only one run through 7 with 7Ks. He's over 100 pitches and there's no CG shutout at stake, so I figure they pull him, right?

WRONG.

 
15 team 2 catcher leegs.....stooooopid. There's only 30 teams in the league and half of them share catchers. So you lose a catcher or two and your season is over.

No, it's an experts league. He wouldn't last 3 days. Did I mention I drafted Ervin Santana 2 days before they released news on his elbow?

You could have signed Ted Lily as a FA, and then kept Hanley.The difference between Lily and Beckett is slight, whereas the difference between Hanley and anyone the BoSox have trotted out there is immense.Theo and Bill James are not the shiznitt.

Guy in my league walked away from the draft with McCann and Mauer. Mauer uncertain length of stay on DL led him to trade for Doumit...then Doumit goes on DL. So this guy has three top line catchers (in a start 2 catcher league), but all 3 are on the DL.Thank God, the guy isn't me...this is usually something I get stuck with.

My fault... I picked up McClellan in a holds league.Before Limp - a WHIP of 1.00 giving up 8 hits and 2 walks in 10 innings over 8 appearances. ERA 1.80 during that stretchWith Limp - a WHIP of 4.20 giving up 2 hits and 5 walks in 1 2/3 innings over 2 appearances. ERA is 10.80 during my proud ownership tenure.He did get me a hold though :hangover:

I shrewdly nabbed LaTroy within 10 minutes after Valverde hit by a line drive.

Valverde keeps plugging away for 5 days and I waive Latroy 10 minutes before Valverde is place on the DL.

meanwhile, I'm sitting here with likes of:

Matt :loco: Holliday - 4 runs, 0 homers, 11 rbi's and zero stolen bases batting about .220

Geovany Soto - 3 runs, 0 homers, 2 rbi's, zero stolen bases...hitting .111

Brian Giles - 2 runs, 0 homers, 11 rbi's and zero stolen bases with an OBP of .225, OBP of .225 :X :X

How the #### do you score 2 runs for a ####### MONTH, unreal.

And I don't even want to start with pitchers, I have Ryan and Hanrahan who both lost their jobs in less than a month, bravo.

Yeah, guess where my teams are sitting right about now :thumbup:

I took over a team this year as a favor for a friend who was short one owner. Plunked down my $150 for a LOADED roster (well it is an 8 team league so maybe it wasn't that loaded). Now, a month in I am in dead last with little hope of catching the front runners. My can't miss team?SotoTeixeiraKinslerTulowitzski (supplanted by Theriot finally)Wright (debating starting Chris Davis here)Holliday (Ludwick replaced him this week finally)Rios (Bruce now in his spot)GrandersonVotto UTIt gets worse - my pitchers include Verlander, Kazmir, Pelfrey, Hamels, Lester, Myers, BJ Ryan (since cut), Jason Motte (since cut)My only rays of hope have been Vazquez, Masterson and Papelbon (and we'll see how the recent additions of Downs and Franklin pan out).This lineup looked so good on paper - complete garbage once the season started.

Sabathia gets almost no run support ... AGAIN. And then Girardi ... AGAIN ... lets him pitch until his arm is dead. Ugh.

 
WTF is up with Johnny Peralta???? I drafted him in the 6th round of a 15teamer thinking he was a STEAL. He looks completly lost. After being written off in 07 he suprised EVERYONE last year and had a HUGE power season from the ss.

What's going on?
