I know that magazines are outdated when they hit the shelves, but I am interested in which ones have the best content. I browsed through Rotowire's at Wal Mart on Tuesday and it looked good, they have free updates through the end of spring training. What are some opinions on this one and any other magazines out there?

I usually just get The Sporting News. The strategy articles aren't very good, but you can get that stuff on the net anyways(assuming you dont already know it) I dont love their rankings, but they are good for a jumping off point.

For me, its just nice to have all the players and stats on paper somewhere.

As you mentioned, mags are outdated before they even leave the printer. Most are using projections from December. However, if I had to recommend a mag, it would be RotoWire. I like Jeff Erickson. He won AL Tout last year.

Nothing beats this site for football, but Rotoworld, IMHO is worth the small amount of money

I print a couple cheatsheets online that I use as a master list for players, but the only book I ever buy is Ron Shandlers. The guy is not great at forecasting pitchers, but he has gotten me some unbelievable hitter bargains.

I don't know if thus us what you are looking for but I stumbled uppon this "e-magazine" recently. It looks like they are releasing it in sections and then putting it all together as a PDF.

I usually grab the Sporting News mag, sometimes the Fantasy Baseball Guide talked about here earlier. The last two years, I've purchased the Rotoworld online guide which I've liked. I like that it allows you to enter you're leagues scoring system and get auction values based upon it since my league uses some non-standard cats like OBP, K/BB and Hld+Sv. The other one I liked was last year I picked up the Sports Weekly Fantasy Baseball issue about the third week of March. The rankings and dollar values in it were quite good.

Not to pimp it up too much, but this thing rocks. And he's okay at pitchers. I pick pitchers better than hitters anyway.

Don't get me wrong, he hits on pitchers too (hooked me up with Dan Haren last year), but he misses more than he does on hitters. I try not to bring the book with me to drafts because I don't want other owners looking into it.

Thanks guys. I have a new job with limited internet access until I purchase a new house and get my family moved (I am staying with in-laws and they have no internet and work blocks a lot of the good stuff).
