Fantasy Football Expert Rankings (1 Viewer)

So, if any of you haven't looked at the fantasy football expert rankings for a comparison of the top guys, they can be found here: http://www.fantasypros.com/nfl/accuracy/index.php

As you can see, Bloom is outside of the top 10 and Dodds isn't even in the top 30. What gives? Down year? I'm a fist year subscriber, but this is a bit disconcerting to me--I'd like to get results if I'm spending extra cash on fantasy football. Anyone else really care about these rankings?

Looking at previous years, Bloom and Dodds have typically finished in the top 10. Dodds was 2nd last year behind The Shrink.

Could we be looking at situation with only 10 weeks of data? Or is this a changing of the guard so to speak in the fantasy football expert realm.

I believe these rankings come from Dodds/Bloom first glance projections, which get changed in the subscriber area as we near closer to Sunday. I am not sure if FantasyPros uses their updated projections or just the first run (it is paid subscriber content only)

Either way, does it really matter? A lot of this game is about luck.

I agree that a lot of it is luck. Look at the regular beatdowns the Jene Bramel has been taking in his Fanduel freeroll challenge. Look at Jason Wood show up in the venting thread discussing his 1-6 teams. Look at some of the key injuries that nobody could see coming. Week 7 alone was a bloodbath.

Given all the factors that are beyond anyone’s control, all anyone can do is follow the current events and situations that change daily and produce an updated guide to what’s most likely. That’s not a crystal ball and never has been.

As a subscriber, what matters most is, how is your fantasy football team doing? If you follow FBG’s regularly, you’ll find your team gravitating towards the top. If only because you’ll be neck deep in all sorts of info whether it’s FBG’s or not that has you informed and ready to pounce on the right FA acquisitions and make savvy trades. Overall it really helps you manage your teams smarter. So what if FBG’s takes it on the chin in their competitions this year? I really am not paying that much attention as much as to what my fantasy team is doing. That’s where the proof of subscriber benefits lie.

I agree, def a worthwhile investment. Grass is always greener I suppose. Next year I may try another site in addition to FBGs just to see what they have to offer.

I hate to say this b/c FBG has been so good to me over the past 3-4 years but they are having a down year. Their early season projections on RBs have been pretty terrible. I often worry about whether there is a conflict of interest with them playing in all these money leagues and distributing the best information to the public. Their defensive rankings and coverage have not been as good as in years past imo. And my intention is not to flame here, everybody has a down year. Let's hope they can pick it up again next year.
