BOSTON -- The Tigers recalled Zach Miner to start this afternoon's game in Boston because scheduled starter Mike Maroth is ill.
The club plans to send Miner back to Triple-A Toledo after the game to make room for Andrew Miller, who is due to start Friday night in place of Jeremy Bonderman.
Bonderman has gone on the disabled list because of a blister on his pitching hand.
Miner is 0-4 with a 5.57 ERA at Toledo, but he has not allowed an earned run in his last two starts.
