12 missing?

#4 can hack that before the regular season is over - most week 15 or before and most of the to Driver or Green, I hope...

;)

It doesn't matter because when he is done P. Manning will own all the QB records including consecutive games played.

He's got a long way to go though. This is the same Peyton Manning that has thrown more the 30 touchdowns twice in nine season right? Favre did it 5 times in a row. Peyton better get going, he's already 30.

One record Peyton will not beat Favre in is Superbowl wins and appearances.Manning = 1.912 TD's per gameFavre = 1.76 TD's while in Green Bay... none thrown in 2 games with AtlantaManning keeps this pace he will have 422 in 220 games. That pits him in 5 more seasons after this one if he keeps that average going. He would be 35 years old while doing this and turning 36 going into the following season after breaking it or just about to break it.

good thing favre was on such a great team
I guess so I take it he was on two great teams. And, how was the team when they lost to Philly? It is true a QB does not make the team but a good QB sure helps.

Um, still a valid argument rather than reference an "ad-naseum" thread. In doing some quick research, reminds me some guys were in schemes where they just kept slinging it, and their "positive" numbers really help, but how many games did they blow I wonder....In my research, some notables...

Terry Bradshaw 212 TDs 210 INTs... (near 1:1) no QB has benefited more than that hick being surrounded by Hall of Famers... hell the coach, and even the ownership is in the Hall. 'nuf said.

Blanda 236/277 1:1.17 ratio... shear numbers and some great years within a long tenure

Elway 300/226 1.12:1

Favre 409/262 1.56:1 (thusly despite his latter years, his ratio is very healthy)

Marino 420/252 (a hem) 1.66:1

Montana 273/139 1.96:1 (WOW! validates Montana in the top 3 of any/every QB list, IMHO, and I hate the guy personally)

Moon 299/233 1.28:1 (benefactor of the slinger factor)

Tark 342/266 1.28:1 (thought I'd include, as he gets excluded from many threads)

Young 232/107 2.16:1 (one of the smarter QBs ever, risk averse yet still a winner....and one of the better running QBs to boot) I hope he coaches a team sooner than later....

All good stats, but for the same reason you show Bradshaw to be overrated (and he is) some of these QB's had way more to work with. Winning is helped tremendously by having a good defense and the ability to run when you need to. It no coincidence that Elway only won the SB when he had the #1 rushing attack in T. Davis. Marino never had anyone even close to Ahman Green or Levens, let alone some solid defenses during the good years with Reggie White. The one year Marino had a competent defense was his first year and they went to the SB only to see the 49ers (one of the best teams of all time) score on the defense in there 1st 2 or 3 possessions. One can never really know, but Marino was the best to me, but a great argument could be made for Young and Montana as well (not counting Unitas because I really didn't watch him). It is no coincidence that both Young and Montana played for the same team which help tremendously. Jerry Rice was one of the best players of all time. Duper and Clayton were a small step of from the 3 amigos but that is it; Marino made them.

Bottom line is that the QB is less than 15% of the game and the numbers point to more like 12% and the team needs to help the QB to win.

What do you mean by this? This really makes no sense at all. Given equal plays offensively and defensively the QB handles the ball 99% of the time on offense (indirerect snaps and all). How does the QB handling the ball 99% of the time on offense account for 15% of all game decisions? I think you are underestimating the QB position in many ways here.

i hope he gets the TD record this next game...

so they can finally show ahman some goal line love.

[One record Peyton will not beat Favre in is Superbowl wins and appearances.
I think Manning will play long enough to have a good shot at that record.2 appearances, 1 win? In the parity driven NFL, even the Colts can go to a Bowl or two in the next 4 or 5 years.

plus it is tedious wading through a thread where every sixth post is an eye rolling smilie... almost made me want to use an eye rolling smilie for all the eye rolling smilies, but that would have been too recursive

Whether you liked, or disliked how Favre handled his offseason business (many board & staff members alike got tired of it), there's no doubt, as I said many times, the guy still has more talent in his left pinky than a ton of todays starting QB's.

The road TD record is a great accomplishment to achieve and there's no way anyone should belittle it.

Kudos to Favre & the Packers.

Here's to hoping he gets the overall TD record this year. :banned:

:loco: Look above to post #1 of this thread.
Chill out, buddy - no need for the 'tude here.
Might as well delete his account then. He has little else to offer.
Wrong. The people that don't offer anything are the ones that bash Favre every chance they get. Of course, some of those people are now in hiding. I defend Favre and the Favre haters don't like that including yourself. :D And I do provide good information on the Packers.

... and this is the Road TD record, not the career TD record
Thanks for that great info which was included in the original thread.
Link to original thread? I must have missed it.

Watch the "tude". ;)

Congrats to Favre on the record.

OTOH, I think flaVVed has managed to take a dump on his own thread.
