Tennessee Titans

Positions of Need (as per NFL.com)

LB, DL, S, CB, WR

Needs Analysis: The Vince Young era is officially here for the second time. Coach Jeff Fisher told me his team was undergoing a youth movement, which is why Kevin Mawae was told he could only return as a reserve. The draft could also provide a replacement for LB Keith Bulluck and DE Kyle Vanden Bosch, two defensive leaders of the past. The Titans need help in the secondary and at receiver, but without a second-round pick, they will have to target those areas with their two third-round selections.

I went with Derrick Morgan, but who knows? I think they will take either Pierre or Morgan, but I don't know which one of these guys they prefer. Now, if both of these guys are gone at their pick, things could get interesting. I don't think they should reach for one of those LB's and I would prefer they move back in the first and pick up a second if at all possible. One thing is for sure though Fischer has shown he does like to trade during the draft and I imagine the Titans will be active.

I am of the camp that doesn't believe in underachieving measurable guys. I think both of the big 2 DEs fit that category. I think the best value is between E.Thomas and K.Wilson. When you consider the power within their division, I think help in the pass defense is mandatory and top DBs fit that bill as well as top DEs and I think both of these DBs are better than the DEs.

I would pick Derrick Morgan but I think that the raw abilities of Pierre-Paul may seduce Tennessee into picking him. With no second rounder the Titans can not afford a miss with this pick and P-P has a much greater risk of being a FAIL than Morgan.

Derrick Morgan
