I figured you would have started with your shovel acquisition prowess

So a few years ago I was fishing in Minnesota with my brother and my niece. We weren't having much luck, and we were fishing with sucker minnows under bobbers.
After about an hour of this, I turn to my niece and go:
"OK. I'm gonna count down from 5 and you're gonna get a bite. 5...4...3...2...1"
And as God as my witness her bobber goes down. She sets the hook and reels in this nice northern pike. Of course after words we are laughing and saying things like "wow, that never works" and stuff like that.
So she baits her hook again and throws it back out there.
About 20 minutes later I looked at her and said: "Well, it worked last time. Let's try it again. 5....4....3....2....1...."
PLOP. Bobber goes down again. She sets the hook and reels in a really nice bass. We look at each other and just start roaring in laughter.
It was getting dark so we pulled up the anchor and motored back to the cabin.

I only wear it once a year - when I do the fish fry up there on Tuesday.
