Felon trying to buy a long gun (1 Viewer)

So.. out of all the boredom we've been dealing with, I got into a debate with the GF about guns.

We got to the point of what would happen if a felon tried to purchase a rifle at a gun shop/store. Would they just be denied? Or would they be arrested for said attempt.

Denied.

My buddy has a coke charge from when he was 18. He tried going to a range about 10 years ago and was denied. A cop was there and told him not to ever do that again.

Absolutely would get denied assuming your state properly reports to NICS, which several have been accused of not doing a very good job of.

No idea on the gun show situation, haven't been in about a decade, but i was able to sell a AR15 Lower Receiver to someone with no paperwork back then. (Before folks freak out, he was a cop buddy) I think things have tightened up since then though.

I will say It doesn't matter much. If you want a gun you can buy one. Felons will generally just offer more cash.

I've Been offered 2x value for my Serbian AK "Pistol" (Zastava M92) by a realllllly shady looking dude before. I declined as I wasn't too keen on a bunch of bodies ending up in the thing.
