FFA Heads-Up Poker Challenge Thread (1 Viewer)

A friend of ours here whose name rhymes with "Cav" suggested we set up an ***OFFICIAL*** FFA heads-up hold 'em poker challenge.

$50 buy-in. Once we have everyone who is interested, we'll set up tourney brackets by random selection. Each round is best of 3 matches. People square off when they can, and report back here with the results. At least the top two places get paid out, specific prizes TBD. Cav can hold the funds from registration to payouts time.

In, I think you might want to change format though. You can run a heads up tournament through Pokerstars. One win and you move on. And it all is completed in two hours. Setting up all different games outside of the pokerstars tournament format is possible but falls apart if I am not around, or if people set up games different from that then others are playing.

Im in. I played a Heads Up tourney at the Hard Rock in south florida a couple years back that was win or go home until like the last two rounds then it was best of three. I like the best of three in every round to protect from a bad beat but that may take a while.

I'm interested, just depends on the date/time. We don't all have the carefree lifestyle of fatherhood like Oats, some of us have serious responsibilities like drinking and partying to do.

That's why I like the format of play whenever you can. It will go over a span of days or weeks, but would be fun. There was a chess tourney in here done in that style.

I'm fine with that, but it's easy to get a bad beat in one game. Best of 3 is better, and since we aren't doing it in one single night, there's no rush for time, and there's also hopefully more people playing since it's not dependent on someone being around on a given night.

Yeah, I played in that chess tourney. Only difference was that players could take their turn whenever they felt like until the game was completed. Using this system we'd have a bunch of people trying to coordinate with one another and would probably turn into a cluster####.

Agree that a single night HU tourney would be best.

I bet we don't get more than 10 people that way. If we make it play-when-available, we could have lots more.

But I defer to the majority, you could just set it up on Stars as a HU tourney. Cav, you probably should have just started the thread

I liked the old matches with you and cav but these days, the only times I can play, I'm drunk or working. First world problems I guess. If you'll be around around 9 we can get down. My Internet is acting funky so I need to fix that first.

I've played Otis many times. You PM me at 4 am Eastern time usually looking for a match. I do sleep.Eta: you're also both much better than me. I like winning money. It's very rare I'm Sober and awake at 11 pm when you usually seem to play.
