G Beckham (M)

D Bard (M)

F Paulino (M)

J Niese (M)

C Buchholz (M)

M Bowden (M)

D Price (M)

M Prior (M)

P Hughes (M)

T Hanson (M)

M Bumgarner (M)

J Samardzija (M)

"Abe - meet me half way....BUY a ticket"

Do you want biggest STUD for long term or more immediate help for this year?

Hitter or Pitcher?

If hitter is position relevant (ie several STUD catchers but if you have two good ones that are keepers do you want another)

More info gets better answers

Are you interested in more immediate help, or a prospect who might be a few years away?

Hitting (what positions are you weak at) or Pitching?

Here's my roster. IMO I have a lot of young talent, really just looking for the best overall prospect out there. I'm having a hard time figuring out who I will drop when Price gets called up, so I really don't care if he helps me out this year or not.

C - R Martin

1B - J Votto

2B - D Uggla

3B - C Figgins, B Wood (SS)

SS - B Zobrist

OF - H Pence, J Ellsbury Jason Bay, D Young, D Span, C Quentin, G Beckham (M)

SP - C Young, J Vazquez, R Nolasco, R Oswalt, T Lilly, K Kawakami ®, K Slowey ®, Z Duke ®, J Smoltz (I), J Duchscherer (I), D Price (M)

RP - B Jenks, H Bell, M Capps, R Ohlendorf, J Frasor ®, B.J. Ryan (I)

VERY helpful to see the roster

IMO your biggest need (present or future) is power - you are woefully short unless that is a really deep league which is unlikely with so few minor leaguers rostered.

I would take Matt Gamels, 3B, MLW with your team

My recommendation: Pedro Alvarez (3B - Pittsburgh) or Justin Smoak (1B - Texas)

I second the vote for Gamel...because you have Votto at 1B...but I think Lars Anderson might provide you more power than Gamel.
If one of Ortiz, Youkilis, or Lowell go down Anderson is going to about as good of position to succeed as anyone in the majors. Boston is loaded with on base machines.

Ended up grabbing Lars Anderson. Thanks for the help
Did you take a serious look at Justin Smoak? So far in AA:29-81 (.356), 4 2B, 4 HR, 18 BB / 10 K, 1.055 OPSHe's 6'4" hits from both sides of the plate and plays gold glove caliber defense.Oh, and he will play half of his homes in Arlington.Potential monster.
