First Round Running Backs (1 Viewer)

I wanted to revisit this subject as a few things have changed recently with these guys. I am really torn how to rank these guys in NON PPR

Im looking at

MJD, Ray Rice, Turner And Gore

I literally cannot separate them

I dont like MJD because of his team which has not really impacted him in the past but could catch up with him.

I love Gore and his schedule but this early want a guy who is the only possible guy when healthy. I know westbrook is toast but he is still looming , Which leads me to Turner. He qualifies under that and is a TD machine .Finally, Rice. I love him , his line and skills but Mcgahee is there and I dont want a vulture this early in Round 1. I dont feel good about MJD but its his show and

gonna get all the TDs on the ground. Anyone else struggling with separating these guys

I pick in the 5 slot and was very happy to get Gore (assuming Rice/MJD were gone), but this Westy signing has me a little spooked. Now I'm looking a little closer at Turner since it looks like they want him catching a few more balls this year. I'll probably still go Gore, but I agree, all 4 of these guys are a push and I have a difficult time ranking them.
Of course you have to go with who you like but I wouldn't worry about Westy at all his knees are shot and he is one concussion away from being done. As as Eagles fan I loved having him here but he wont last more then a few games if he is used for more then a handful of plays. As for the original poster I think you need to lay off the weed you sound over paranoid. These are the same problems MJD and Rice had last year and it didn't stop them from being top 5 guys and I don't think it will this year either.

I would not overanalyze here at this spot. You made some valid points with all of them. With that being said in PPR

Ray Rice and MJD would have to be 1A and 1B, with a slight edge for Ray Rice because IMO Baltimore is the better team that is more likely not be blown out of games rendering the RB less effective

Turner will rebound from his injuries last year and with a healthier Matt Ryan and easier schedule could make a push for TOP 5.

Gore I just don't see enough of him scoring to justify picking him.

Here's what ya do. Plan on making the playoffs and pick the one with the sweetest schedule.

If you go strictly by that, it would be: Gore (Sea, SD, Stl), MJD (Oak, Ind, Was), Turner (Car, Sea, NO), Rice (Hou, NO, Cle).

I pick 5th in a non PPR and have been struggling with this decision as well. I put it on the back burner while I focused studying the middle round players, but with 8 days until my draft, I have to make a decision between these guys. I never considered the possibility of Rice falling to 5, if he does, he's mine, had him on 2 championship teams last year, I'll reward him with a contract extension if I'm able to. So it comes down to MJD, Gore, and Turner for my second choice, I may have to flip my 3 sided coin. or just pick Maurice Gore, or Frank Turner or....Oh never mind :blackdot:

I know its a good probem to have but I also feel I can sort the players out in a way which may separate them.

I have the 3 pick so I can trade down to 6 and take what is left or stand at 3 and make a chocie.

I kind of lean toward Rice, Turner , Gore, Mjd but Gore was my guy until Westy got signed with that schedule. There not likely to finish 3.4.5.6 and its kinda fun to drive myself nuts about this now.

thanks

For me (picking 5th, non-ppr) it comes down more to Gore vs Turner. If MJD or Rice fall to 5, I don't really have to think about it. I like Rice more than MJD, mostly because of the supporting cast. True, McGahee is there to vulture TDs but Rice got a lot more looks in the red zone in the 2nd half of the year and that could continue.

Between Gore and Turner, I was all but ready to pick Gore a month ago but now I'm leaning towards Turner. It's not just the Wesbrook pick, although it could eat into the workload some, it's that Gore very likely won't play in 16 games and pouring over game logs from the last couple of years is very inconsistent. Turner will have the occasional 3 TD game and will very rarely disappoint you with a stinker.

That being said, Andre Johnson is looking more and more like an option to me. I've never been this undecided heading into my draft in 8 days.
