Fitbit? (1 Viewer)

I'm in now. Wow some of you (Osaurus) put in a lot of steps everyday.

I'm working in DC this week and getting 10-12k/day. Still have no chance of catching some of you!

I did over 40k steps yesterday - first time I've managed to get there. Ended up being something like 17 miles. Use a Garmin - anybody else use one and want to do a step challenge?

Anyone else interested in joining our group? Been a slow/bad week for me due to work getting in the way. Wold be nice to have more folks in the weekly challenges. :bye:

I'm back in

Please invite me to the work week hustle.

I'm coming for you, Fiddles!

Lets go boys. Here is a challenge. I want to see someone other than Osarus and me get that trophy next week.

Lets do it

I sent out an invite. I don't think I have you as a friend though. One of the other guys should though. It's the usual suspects.

The band on my wife's Flex is starting to crack. Anyone had any luck with buying a new one? Any brands that people like?

Sometimes we also have a hard time getting it to charge. It seems like the connectors aren't meeting properly. Anyone ever bought a new charger?

TIA,

Lots of band you can buy on Amazon. Have an old Flex with charging issues. Not sure new charger is worth it IMO

Hers is less than a year old (Xmas 2014). Wonder what the warranty is for it.

Sounds like mine. They die pretty fast.

All you guys in the FBG challenge can go crap up a tree.

This is unreal.

DO YOU LIVE ON A ####### TREADMILL?

Do you need to properly calibrate these things to get them to count the steps correctly?

I tested mine out right after I got it, counting the steps to my car. Should have been over 1K steps, but it came in just over 800.

Also, my wife and I have basically the same stride (she's only an inch shorter) and we can walk a good distance and come up with completely different totals.

Mine also randomly adds steps while I'm driving home, and things like that.

any other fbgs that have FitBit and want to join us for the WorkWeek Hustle should reach out.

We have a great consistent group of 5 or 6 guys that push each other every week.

It's all encouraging trash talk and done wonders for my level of fitness as far as keeping me accountable.

Don't be shy...shoot one a PM out if you want to step along.

We run a challenge almost every week.

It is very motivating. Never did as much as I do now and that's mostly due to the weekly challenges.

didn't see any response's to this - what do the experienced users say?

  1. Log into your fitbit.com dashboard and click the gear icon in the top right.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Update the Stride Length and Running Stride Length fields. ...
  4. Don't forget to click Save.

I could be wrong but I think stride length only comes into play when the fit bit counts distance in miles. A step is a step and is pick up as such. I get more distance in miles for the same amount of steps then my wife who is shorter. Or put the other way, if we were to walk 5 miles together she would get more steps.
