Flooded in at a Costco an hour from home. AMA (1 Viewer)

From driving through high spots? Did you know/think there may have been an issue at that moment or did you figure it out after the fact?
From sitting in the parking lot, I think.  Water got pretty deep there.

Had no inkling there was an issue until today - Started it up, was fine for half the drive, and then the radiator fan kicked in and the car was trying to tear itself apart.

I've heard no car can really be fixed after being flooded? Electrical problems especially.

Time to come clean..do you really believe that you're funnier than me?
I think instead of the mma matches a certain poster keeps suggesting, the FFA needs u and Henry to have a challenge thread! may the funnier poster prevail.

That's just silly.  I'm not funny at all.
What do you mean by not funny? What do you mean, you mean the way you talk? What? Not funny how? What's not funny about?

You mean, let me understand this cause, ya know maybe it's me, I'm a little flighted up maybe, but not funny how, I mean not funny like a clown, like to not amuse me? To not make me laugh, You're here to flight'in' NOT amuse me? What do you mean not funny, not funny how? How are you not funny?

No, no, I don't know, you said it. How do I know? You said you're not funny. How the flight are you not funny, what the flight is so not funny about you? Tell me, tell me what's not funny!

But hey, those 35 bucks your friend saved!

I should mention that depending on whether the car is totaled or not, this might actually be the best thing a friend has ever done for me.  I need a new car.

Car's completely paid off and bluebook is probably $5-6k.  Which is probably about $3-4K more than I'd get in trade for it.  So.... could be worse.

I was surprised you didn't mention that you had water on your floor after 4x4-Tricked-Out-Jacked-Up-Truck-Guy created a tsunami in the parking lot. Hope it works out the way you want.

Why are the kayaks in the Home and Garden Section and not in sporting goods?
They don't really have a sporting goods section.  Or a home and garden section.  It's just kind of a huge morass of stuff they constantly move around so you have to look for it and find other stuff you need.

Where I grew up folks pride themselves on the blizzards they endured.  Is it the same down there for floods and hurricanes?  Do folks not so subtly brag on them being there for one storm or another?

If Dale Cooper were back as himself, would have been superior.  Current season of Twin Peaks makes me so angry I need to motorboat Teri Garr.
Teri Garr always got an additional point and a half on the ten point scale from me for her personality.  I imagined her being highly participatory during coitus, funny after, and able to get one quickly back to the post for the next stakes.

Loved her energy.

Maybe not personally brag ... but, yeah, people do talk about it from time to time. Katrina, naturally, has been the benchmark hurricane since 2005 -- before that, it was Betsy (1965, direct hit on New Orleans) or Camille (1969, Mississippi Gulf Coast).

EDIT: One thing people used to brag about before Katrina was being brave enough to stay put and ride out hurricanes and tropical storms. There were many smaller storms in the years between Betsy and Katrina (yes, there is such thing as a fully-fledged hurricane that doesn't do much damage). No one evacuated. We'd get off a day or two from school if they hit once school started. People would rush out and buy non-perishable groceries in advance. We'd have our power knocked for a day or so. Sometimes minor street flooding, sometimes not. Us kids would play in the hurricane winds and/or flood waters on our suburban streets.

Since Katrina, though ... people evacuate the city much more readily. Then again, some locals are pushing back against that post-K mindset, figuring it won't ever be THAT bad in their lifetimes again.

We have noticed the practice of moving products as well, frustrating at times but probably a shark move on COSTCO's part.

I used to love seeing her on Letterman's show, he was obviously smitten with her.
