So imagine:

You're asleep.  It's 2:00 a.m.  Suddenly your fan dies, your white noise machine goes silent, the air conditioning stops and you get this text from your government alarm system:

POWER OUTAGE AND ZOMBIE ALERT FOR RESIDENTS OF LAKE WORTH AND TERMINUS. THERE ARE NOW FAR LESS THAN SEVEN THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY CUSTOMERS INVOLVED DUE TO EXTREME ZOMBIE ACTIVITY. RESTORATION TIME UNCERTAIN.

You are in Lake Worth, Florida.

What's your first move?

Ok, stay with me here.. Imagine that that house is in Lake Worth- I'm riding this one out. Or getting a flippable van, magic bottle rockets, self mowing lawns, never go bad gasoline, and an eye patch.

ETA.. Plus I'd figure at this point it's kind of like Dade county hurricane code- isn't it a zoning requirement to have a zombie proof house in FL?

Seek more information as I load my magazines after boarding ground floor windows.  Are these speed zombies or walkers?  Next check if I can store water from the taps, is there still pressure. Wake my spouse and if the roads are not encumbered fill my gas tanks and hit the stores for supplies.  Make sure my ZARP vehicle is loaded and parked in the garage facing out.  Keep listening for updates.

Perhaps more important is what I would not do.  I would not knock on my neighbors doors to see how they are.  At that hour my countenance and walk rather resembles that of a zombie.  I would not want to get shot by mistake.

Same thing I always do when there's something alarming at night....roll over and go back to sleep.  So far I'm batting a 1,000 that it's probably nothing.
