I'm wondering if we have any air traffic controllers that can weigh in on this. I just don't know how you would create a highway system, or whatever, to prevent idiots running into each other. I mean, I'm sure it won't be too crowded in 2025, but by 2050, this could be a real problem.
We can't even figure out how to get people to merge onto a highway in a two dimensional space. You think we are going to have any luck adding a 3rd?
I'm skeptical. I guess they would have to be autonomous, but just like the cars on the road, how much can you trust that?
I just did an interview with a company that has a lot of automation for its 1000+ robots so they don't run in to each other. I imagine the technology would have to be something like that. I have no background in this (which is why I am not expecting a call back from said company), but it does interest me.
