Foster Handcuff? (1 Viewer)

Strangely, as an A. Foster owner, I found myself rooting for the Lions in O.T. At 10-1 (vs. 9-2), I am getting more and more concerned that in critical FF playoff weeks (as early as 14) the Texans will begin spelling Foster more and more. The question then becomes: Tate or Forsett? Without the hammy, this would likely be a no-brainer, however......

Any homers out there with some insight on Tate's status?

IF you have the room, both. That's what I have. IF not, I think Forsett is the guy. Tate has barely played in weeks now. How good will he be IF he comes back.

It would be Tate, if he ever gets healthy. Agree with the above. I have him in one league that I don't own Foster, and am considering dropping him soon if he doesn't start showing signs of health.

Tate if he's healthy, Forsett if he's not. Get both if you can. If Forsett gets injured, it would be David Grimes.

Tate is closer to returning. He's gone through "hard workouts". Apparently he was practicing harder than the team early last week, as they were going easy on the rest of the team after the OT game Sunday and short week to Thursday.

I won't be surprised if he plays week 13 against Tennessee. But won't be floored if they keep him out another week, either. I'd grab both if you have room.

Word right now is that Tate may practice a little this upcoming week but probably won't play in the next game. Getting him ready for the following week. Don't buy the forsett hype as he'll be the third back.

Do we really need one if we dont play week 17? I mean what is the likelyhood that you would start Tate for instance over Foster? Even if they announce reduced carries I still couldn't sit Foster for Tate. It would have to be a clear sit Foster as we are saving him for the Playoffs, I only see this happening week 17. I think if I remember correctly only Manning has sat week 16 (without injury coming into play).

Why would they reduce carries for Foster? If the Texans lose to NE in a few weeks, and NE or Balt keep winning, Houston will need to win out to get the 1 seed.

As a fantasy owner in a keeper league, it'd be nice to see them show concern for his future as opposed to running him into the ground this season. 20-22 carries per game is just fine with me. From a real life perspective, Tate is obviously pretty solid himself. I don't understand how using some split of Foster 20-22 carries, and Tate and Forsett splitting 8-12 carries doesn't work for them. It preserves Foster more and it doesn't really hurt the team that much.

Houston has the luxury of not needing to hurry Tate back into the lineup. Forsett is a very capable back. That said, we saw last season what Tate is capable of, and he should be considered the Foster handcuff. Jonathan Grimes is depth at the position, nothing more at this point. Foster shows no signs of wearing down; in fact, he only seems to be getting stronger.

looks like Tate may be reclaiming that #2 spot now after the NE game.

I still have Forsett and Tate, and am thinking about dropping Forsett now and just rolling with Tate as the handcuff for our week 16 championship.

(I don't see much of a decrease in workload this week or even next week for Foster, this is merely as a handcuff)

If the Texans do not beat the Colts this week, their division will come down to their Week 17 match-up. That means a lot.If you're a Foster owner in the playoffs, hope that the Colts win and you won't have to worry too much going into the finals.

Most finals I would bet are done week 16, but even so the Patriots are only a game back so Houston has to win out if the Pats do.I was never worried about the week 16 championship in my league with Foster. Week 17 you would have been a little nervous but after the Pats game I think Foster plays through week 17.
