Frank Gore - Monday Night (1 Viewer)

translation of the coach speak: Gore looks fantastic. Best we've seen him all season. He'll get at least 8 touches this time while we continue to allow Alex Smith to pass 30+ times a game.
:kicksrock: OC Hostler sucks. even a healthy Gore struggled earlier this season. I know its a game against Seattle, but I don't expect much out of Gore Monday night..SF could be down big, early on..

I'm rolling the dice with Priest Holmes. Gore is dinged, his line is more dinged...............Gore rides the pine until I see some signs of life.

... wonder how much his mother's death is weighing on him ... the week it happened (week 2), he had his only "big" game, going for 88 and 2 scores (one a 43 yd. run) in St. Louis. This has been a dismal season, and his heart may not be fully into it all.

A ton of factors weighing against the lofty draft status ... I took him with #6 overall.

FWIW, I plan on riding him vs. the 'hawks. Have Robinson rostered ... just in case.

My only other option is Grant against the Vikes D...no thanks. I will take my chances with Gore on MNF. I don't have any other possible RBs to replace him if he is scratched so it is either Gore or a 0...

Not only does Norv increase a RB's value when he arrives (well other than LT), but he also can turn a total bust of a QB into a servicable QB. Now Smith is back to himself. Horrible.
Tell that to Phillip Rivers. Norv Turner has had a great career as an assistant coach. He has never succeeded as a head coach. He took over a team that won 14 games last year and now they sit at 5-4 and should be at 4-5 (thank you Adam Vinatieri). Phillip Rivers has looked horrendous. Hopefully he can turn it around (at least for the sake of SD fans). But yesterday really wasn't a good example (all the interceptions and the wet conditions) of what SD can do. The second half is going to be very interesting. And what will be even more interesting will be seeing if SD makes the playoff and how far they go. I still maintain firing Schottenheimer was a bad move.

Bum ankle + slick turf = Not a good night for Gore.

At least, I hope not since he's going against me. Weather is going to be chilly, windy and wet tonight. He comes up small.

The 49ers insider posted in another thread that the weather will be a bigger indicator of whether Frank goes or not than his ankle.

15-20 minutes before kickoff. Just like any other gametime decision.
Is he still officially a game-time decision?
have seen nothing newer than this from yesterday (rotowire):"Assistant head coach Mike Singletary said he expects Gore (ankle) to be ready to face the Seahawks Monday night, the San Jose Mercury News reports."with alexander now out, does maurice morris become a safer bet than gore?

When is it not like that in Seattle in NOvember. Hass and the crew will be good tonight, they are used to it!

RB Frank Gore vs. Seahawks run defense - Gore got some extended practice work late in the week. The plan is for him to tape up that cranky right ankle and go out to play tonight. He'll certainly test it in pregame warmups, at which point a final decision will be made. Gore tore through the Sehawks last season with 356 yards rushing in two games. He did pretty well against the 'Hawks earlier this season, too, but the 49ers fell behind so badly they had to abandon the run. There is no question Seattle has improved its run defense with the additions of safeties Deon Grant and Brian Russell, not to mention the signing of DE Patrick Kerney. The Seahawks yield an average of 3.8 yards a carry and rank 13th in the league vs. the run.

I started him and am expecting nothing. I wouldn't be surprised if Robinson (who I own) has a better game. As an owner, I hope that they sit him tonight and rest the ankle for next week. Then again, I have the W locked up

Just my worthless 2 cents

seahawks have allowed the 9th most ff points to rb's this season; 49ers 13th (at least in my league's scoring)
