Consider he plays for a crappy team with a crappy QB

Consider the lack of yards and scoring to date, even after Lynch departed

Consider the rookie #1 draft pick that was selected to take his job

and finally consider the remaining schedule he has is brutal

WEEK 07

@ Baltimore Ravens

WEEK 08

@ Kansas City Chiefs

WEEK 09

Chicago Bears

WEEK 10

Detroit Lions

WEEK 11

@ Cincinnati Bengals

WEEK 12

Pittsburgh Steelers

WEEK 13

@ Minnesota Vikings

WEEK 14

Cleveland Browns

WEEK 15

@ Miami Dolphins

WEEK 16

New England Patriots

WEEK 17

@ New York Jets

He is presently ranked at RB 30 just behind Ricky Williams and ahead of Brandon Jackson and Thomas Jones. Do you agree? what is the most we can expect from Fred Jackson? What is his upside considering this schedule and other mentioned factors?

1 - Fitz has been playing descent. They've been putting up ok numbers.2 - 1 game3 - Considering the way Spiller blocks, and the fact that the Bills have nothing to play for this year, why not put most of the miles on Fred.4 - Some really tough games, but some good matchups.I think the 30 range seems about right.

I would think having nothing left to play for would make them go to Spiller to see what they have. Also weeks 10 11 and 14 are the only ones I could see myself starting Jackson unless I was in dire straights.

In 2009, Fred Jackson started 11 games. He totaled 1,062 rushing yards (4.5/carry), 46 catches for 371 yards, and 4 total TDs. Jackson has 11 more games this season. If he can even get 80% of what he had in 2009 in the next 11 games, he's better than RB30 going forward.

Spiller is not a threat to take over the RB1 role, he's a utility back who will get 10-15 touches per game (including returns). That leaves Jackson with about 20 touches per game. Spiller won't take any more touches from Jackson than Lynch & other RBs took last year, probably less.

The Bills O-line may be the NFL's worst at pass blocking, but they are surprisingly slightly above average at run blocking. Don't expect much from F-Jax in the Ravens or Steelers games, or in the 2nd meeting with the Jets, but there are rushing stats to be had in Buffalo. I see him as about RB25 forward.
