Fred Taylor poised (1 Viewer)

Fred Taylor knows what's at stake for fantasy owners come week 14...a huge game. He's ready and focused. STORY

I've thought long and hard about the Jones-Drew factor but Taylor has a history of popping off towards the end of the season! This could be a key play for owners who vault into the 2nd round of the playoffs! Fred has played very well at home and now the Colts are in town! :banned:

I agree, I think Taylor goes over 100 easy this week and I'm guessing he gets better looks at the endzone than usual as well.

I am a HUGE Taylor fan. Had him from his rookie year in a keeper league until this year. I now have MJD. He is still going to get the goal line work along with his 1/4 to 1/3 of the carries. :banned:

i have taylor and i am pulling for him to have a good week, but as usual the midget drew will have a say in just how good a day he has.

Very True. Jones-Drew is very effective running at the goal-line, which hurts Taylor's numbers. Fred's never really been very good in short-yardage situations anyway. In my league that allows a flex player, Fred's my #2 RB and Jones-Drew is my flex player with LT 2.0 as the #1 RB. Works VERY well, and Jax's schedule down the stretch is most promising.

I like how Fred is keeping an eye on his numbers. Now if he could only talk Del Rio into giving him a goalline carry or two. FYI, Del Rio will be in a suit. Taylor scored last time Del Rio wore the stylish suit.

I'm really torn as to start Fred or Houston this week-end ... Taylor's had a very nice season to date but he's lost so many chances in close to MJD, I don't see that changing this week-end and think Houston may be the better play vs a hurting Buffalo D

FT has been "poised" for about 8 weeks now. Im sick and tired of his "great matchups".
:goodposting: I've been starting Taylor over Jones-Drew every week and getting burned. In a game where the Jags could easily fall behind, I'm going with MJD in my Playoff Week 1. He'll be in there on all the passing downs and will get the goal line looks. I'd rather take that chance then the Jags getting up on the Colts... and playing ball control with Taylor.

Although since I decided to make the switch now... I'm sure that's what will happen. :X

MJD will probably get 8-12 touches. FT will get 20-25. In a close game -- as is expected -- FT will be the workhorse and may get 30. I'd go FT all day long.

I agree with the 8-12 from MJD. But considering Fred Taylor only averages about 18-20 touches per game... don't see how he's suddenly gonna see 30 today. Even if Jacksonville dominates the time of posession, can't see Taylor handling the ball that many times. I would think Jones-Drew would just get extra touches. And MJD has been a pretty consistent scorer since Week 5. Taylor just isn't scoring touchdowns. Can't take the chance of getting burned again by MJD vulturing the TDs away. This one's a real tough call.

touches just don't seem to matter much with MJD. I've never seen a player make so much out of so few. I've got 1 stud (LJ) and two great matchups (TJ and MJD). Leaning towards sitting TJ, that's how much I think of MJD. And TJ against the Rams is about as juicy as it gets..

Judging from the past, here's what will happen:

Freddy T will amass a lot of yards and maybe will be lucky enough to score once (but not at the goal line). Maurice Jones-Drew will get about half of the carries FT does, rack-up some yards from screen passes, and see most of the goal line action.

Freddy busted a 76 yarder on his first carry.

Jones got the TD.......Fragile Freddy has got it going today. 128 yards and a TD with 7 to go in the first half.

I guess we can end this debate by saying that EITHER of these guys was a rather good start today. :D

Colts run D is brutal.

Boy the colts rush defense is terrible

Taylor 131 yds and a td

Jones Drew 115 and 2 TD

Thats a terrible game to be giving up....and its only halftime!

Edit: ended at 375 yards rushing against...INdy has some work to do on D
