Free Online Education (1 Viewer)

If anyone is interested in learning how to program computers in an easy, not-too-heavy kind of way then I suggest these two sites.

www.thenewboston.com

www.tizag.com

I've used both to sharpen up my HTML and learn PHP recently.

Anyone checked out edX.org?

EdX is a non-profit created by founding partners Harvard and MIT. We're bringing the best of higher education to students around the world. EdX offers MOOCs and interactive online classes in subjects including law, history, science, engineering, business, social sciences, computer science, public health, and artificial intelligence (AI).
I just stepped through the demo course. The software is very slick.

I will say that I really enjoy Khan Academy. I like their layout and I find their videos to be very well produced and actually enjoyable (going through Algebra now...yes, even that is somewhat enjoyable for a guy who hated it in high school)

I've racked up something like 150k points in Math at Khan Academy over the last couple months refreshing for a run at Calc and Linear Algebra. Would highly recommend it to anyone.

It's an amazing world we live in that a quality education is available to anyone that can get online.

I started Harvard's "Intro to Computer Science" today on edx.org and watched the first lecture. I really like the format so far with the video lectures and other resources, and the assignments seem like they will be interesting.

Anyone else done one of these?
