Funny Free Team Drafted the other day (1 Viewer)

10 team league...

I went

Santana

Halladay

Webb first three rounds

followed by the whole yankees roster (to round 22)

I couldnt get Jeter, Rivera, or Arod (could have took him 2nd)

Then delt Santana for Arod

Halladay and Webb for Rivera/Jeter (To complete the team)

Just curious how well this team will fair.

The only spots I may be in trouble is Saves, and HR's maybe

I dont think so, Its not as serious as my pay league. I think I'll be able to field a 5th place team. Its a free league remember. People stop trying.

I know it's a free league but the problem is they've still got better players at most positions than you. even if they stop changing their roster, the quality of pitching and hitting just sitting there (sort of DL issues) will be superior to your team. The Yankees roster is stacked and you're set at 3B and SS with two of the best guys at those positions.. no doubt. You'll be decent at 2B (Cano) and Abreu is a decent #1 OF in a 10 team league.. but Damon and Matsui will put you behind the curve as a 2/3 tandem. You're decent at C (Posada)... but VERY weak at 1B (Minky) and decent at DH (Giambi). Your starting rotation is pretty bad and you'll fail to get the number of starts out of those guys to fill up all your innings requirement (hurting you at W and K likely). Assuming you were true to the full yankees roster then you're basically punting saves as Riviera is awesome but you need 80-100 saves to compete in a 10 team league. If over half the league bails and has key guys on the DL you MIGHT finish 5th... otherwise you're in 8th thru 10th likely.

Don't get me wrong.. I applaud the experiment. Definitely a cool approach to a yahoo free league
