Game Thread - CHI @ SD (1 Viewer)

LT, 9 carries, -1 yd.
You have to figure he'll get back to at least even by the end of the game.
Why is that exactly? He has had no gain or lost yards on each of his last 5 carries.
Five carries isn't very many. On his last 1,000 carries he has more than broken even on the whole.
He hasn't played the Bears D until now.
Yes, he has. Who do you think was running the ball for SD in 2003?
:lmao: Ummm, it's now 2007.
And? How is your statement that he has never played the Bears D at all valid?

Yeah, lots of similarities between the Chi D in 2003 to now. A 7-9 team with a totally different coach, average run D and overall D. Great logic there. :bag:

I have to admit, if anyone would've told me that Grossman would've fumbled and thrown an INT in the first half I would've thought they were joking. He never does that.

Good spin. :lmao:

SD, try something new. Chi is going to be all over Gates now that they know you can't beat them with LT.
split LT out wide and bring in Turner. Gates and LT wide will open it up huge. Hell Neal has more yards than LT

He's got positive yards already -- it didn't even take the whole game to get there.

Will you guys stop arguing about the Bears D from 2003 and get back to bashing Grossman please? That's what these Bears threads are for.
Apparently the Bears average D/team who was 7-9 with a totally different coach is totally relevant to the D of 2007 according to a few around here.

A few gimme runs at the half =

The more things change the more they stay the same. The same couple pathetic ones who took a #### in Bears threads last year are doing the same thing again. Too bad I can't block the responses to their posts. Fbgs needs to come up with a way to do that.

Bears better hope for a nice return to start the half. Field position has been the key in this game and their O really can't be trusted to move the ball that well on SD IMO.

Meh...if you notice who these posters are it's not a surprise. Nobody worth paying attention to.

Off topic here -- is Craig Davis' nickname Buster, or is Joe Buck making the usual uniformed ### of himself on national TV?

Like who? The only ones I have seen being critical of the Bears in here have primarily been Chargers' fans. And even then, most of us have given the Bears props.

I expected the Chargers defense to OWN the Bears.

If I'm them, I CRANK UP THE BLITZES on Grossman. They almost got a fumble recovery right there before halftime.

The Bears defense is clamping down on their offense, so they'd better do something on defense to shorten the playing field.

I thought the Bolts would win 24-20 today.

I still think they pull this game out - but I'll cut the scoring down now: 14-10 Bolts.

Dude let them talk. Like I said I support whoever Lovie has under center and right now its still Grossman.

This is starting to be some of the best/worst backtracking I have ever seen.
 What does the 2003 Bears have to do with this game? What do any of LT's other games have to do with this game? They are all independent events. To say "we have seem this before" when SD is getting owned at the LOS by the Bears D and LT is getting absolutely smothered is a bit optimistic.

Likely me.

The Bears should not call a passing play on offense until the Chargers offense scores. Why let Grossman give the game away with a stupid turnover when your defense is playing this well?

I liked Grossman, but if you can give me one reason why he is STILL making the same mistakes game after game after game, I'd like to hear it. He still shows no pocket awareness, he still can't hold onto the ball, and he still throws ducks up in the air for grabs. It's like he learned nothing from last year at all.

I'd agree. Chi is actually averaging over 3 yds per carry. Let the running game, ST and D win this game. If SD musters a score, then that changes a bit.

The Bears' defense is looking SO good that is overshadowing a pretty decent effort from the Chargers' D. Grossman only has 63 yds., completing less than half of his passes, 0 TDs, 1 INT, 1 FumbleBenson has only managed 31 yards on 12 carries. No receiver has more than 2 catches and none have managed 40 yards.By themselves, those would be some pretty good defensive stats.

You honestly think that Grossman is the better QB over Greisie with that defense????

I did? Link?Actually, all I did was respond to jurb's comment that Tomlinson has never faced the Bears before.
