***Game Thread*** Miami at San Francisco -9 (50.5) (1 Viewer)

Fitzpatrick's 2-year contract ends this year. He'll ne 38 in a month.  Should Miami extend his contract?
I wanted to post this question in the Phins thread and perhaps taunt them in the Tua thread but I'm thinking extension right now.

I'm not sure Miami will do that but how can you allow him to walk out when he is the only person who has looked competent in years.

Make Tua beat him every day in practice, that's when it's time to play Tua and allow Fitz to test the market.

Yeah, he is probably a top 5 guy in terms of being dangerous. Avg over 9 yards per pop today. Not sure what they want from him, but he wasted on SF. Hopefully he revisits his trade demands.
He's only a top five guy because San Francisco is so good at evaluating and rotating their running backs. You'd never know who Mostert even was if this organization wasn't different from others.

I hope Beathard looks good, we start him going forward and Jimmy rides the pine.
No leeway for jimmy G trying to come off an injury and maybe not being 100% today? He did take the field int he Super Bowl as your starter a few months back...I might not close the book on him.

Grueger Hill called for Personal Foul roughing the passer, both announcers are completely befuddled by the call. I totally agree.

If it's warranted I understand but this was ridiculous.

I'd let him test the market. Of course would want to bring back, but at the right price.

JMO If he had a heavy market, he'd have been traded by the Phins last year (particularly in that Pittsburgh deal last year where they lost Big Ben earlier in year and QB desperate)

Miami calls the most transparent Fake Punt attempt you have ever seen, and it just is enough to get about a half yard for a first down to keep Miami moving the football.

Mostert in the game in the red zone.

How about one time for a dude?

eta* Nope.

Gesicki draws a big flag to bail Miami out on 3rd and 11 after a Holding call on the offense.

Gaskin comes back play after and breaks off one of his longer runs.

Sanders 5 For 5 AGAIN today vs San Fran, Miami just chews up clock, nothing special on offense, Tua has not seen the field at all. Next week they are on a Bye and I don't expect a QB change to be discussed for quite a few weeks again.

This is good right? As a Phin fan do you want him getting only a few reps this year? Maybe mop up duty?

I don't think any Phins fans want him out there until this OL can function and not get him killed. It looked pretty good today on pass protection. But Fitz had a terrific game and I look at the schedule and circle the B2B weeks vs the Jets around Week 11 as a good time for Tua to see the field.

Miami beat a team that will now have a losing record and they beat the Jags, they will lose a few more games this season. They have to play the Rams soon, Bills and Patriots again, not an easy schedule.
