Game Thread W1 - Atlanta at Chicago (1 Viewer)

Martz passing again. Keeps stopping the clock. :lmao:
He's "outthinking" the Falcons."Running the ball here is what is expected. But they know my rep and that I like to pass instead of running down the clock. So they think that I'm going to do what is unexpect and run the ball. But I'm going to pull the old switcheroo and pass it. Mike E. Martz....soooooper genius."

Get Ryan off the field. He's going to get killed out there.

Find it amusing they keep commenting on the lack of deep throwing by the Falcons today. Have they not been watching the time Ryan has to get rid of it??

Falcons supposed to be a big time team no?

Bears supposed to take a step back this year no?

Bears supposed to take a step back this year no?
I don't know why anyone thinks this. My only guess is that some people bought hard into the "lucky" angle last year and assumed that a regression must follow. The thing is, they got better in the offseason. Unless they have a slew of injuries, they will perform better than last year.

Bears O line (Webb/Carimi) were not very good today... on the flip side the DLine was flat out scary.

Great opening day win... made Matty Ice look pedestrian.

:goodposting: Cutler looked a lot better. Not spectacular but much better. Made smarter plays etc. Spread the ball around well. Connected with 8 different receivers.Roy W. actually contributed despite his piss-poor preseason. The O-line looked OK. Gave up some sacks but also gave decent protection more often than not. Forte accounted for 150 or so yards of total offense. Bell even had a couple of good runs (one called back). Interested to see what happens when Barber comes back. The defense "bent" a little too much. Gave up too many yards. But they, in typical Bear D fashion, made some big plays/stops/turnovers. D-line looked damn good esp Melton and Peppers. Urlacher just keeps making plays. All in all a nice win against a team with some serious talent at least on the offensive side of the ball.

Im so pleased with Cutler's mechanics today. Stepped up in the pocket and set himself before throwing....planted his back foot when he had time and was throwing lasers out there.

Very encouraging win today.
