Game Thread W1 - Pittsburgh at Baltimore (1 Viewer)

2 pt conversions with a 3 TD lead? Alright, Woodley or Silverbreak need to go out there next series and hurt some ratbirds
Baltimore needs to pull the starters before they start knee hunting. #Steelers poor sports
Im not even a Ravens fan, but the Steelers have turned into the old Oakland Raiders. James Harrison is the dirtiest player in the NFL. He's a bum who couldn't even make the team his first several years in the league and now he's a roided out maniac who is a perennial all pro? GTFO. Throw in Big Ben's off the field troubles and Hines Ward sticking his foot in his mouth every time he opens it and you have the leagues most unlikable team. These are not the Steelers I know and certainly not the Rooney Steelers.
Well...thats just like, your opinion, man

Harrison is getting handled like a 6 year old out there, he must have gotten a new contract this offseason.
 how about 2 back surgeries instead?

the one thing with Ben is he has a bit of Favre in him when the game is out of hand.. he seems to throw a couple of extra picks when the game in out of hand... maybe he's got money on the game

LOL at two Steeler fans not having any leg to stand on in this argument.

What part in untrue, Richard?
Leave the name calling out of it. I didn't insult you personally, merely relplied to your post. It's especially ironic to regard the Steelers as a dirty team when they're playing the Ravens this week. Back when the claim was made that the "Rooney Steelers" were clean, I didn't buy it. Now that I read they are supposedly one of the dirtier players in the league, I don't buy that either. This league is filled with physical teams and there are a few dirty players on each one. Pittsburgh is no better nor worse than dozens of others. Hence my

When he's bad, he's bad. But when he's good, he's among the best at his position. And that's much more often than not. Much.

One of the questions I was hoping to have answered this game is between Antonio Brown and Emannuel Sanders if either one is fantasy worthy. The answer so far is, I don't think so. Two many mouths to feed on this team. This may be true for Mike Wallace as well- I think his ADP may have been a bit high. Throw in Hines Ward still getting targets from time to time and you won't be able to predict which of these guys to start from week to week. Not sure I want to own any of them.

Im waiting until after week 3 to decide to hold onto Brown or not. With how Ben has played today, you cant make a judgment on this

What an ###-kicking.

Ben sucked.

The o-line sucked.

The WRs and Rbs sucked.

The entire defense sucked.

GG Baltimore.

It's pretty clear that this game meant a little more to Baltimore than it did to Pittsburgh. The Ravens have suffered some painful losses to the Stillers in recent years and I think they felt it was vital to hold serve; falling a game back with a trip to Heinz still to come would have left them a couple of steps behind all season.

So I don't think this game is truly indicative of much of anything except that the Ratbirds have the capability of playing pretty well against a quality opponent.

I was pretty surprised at how well the offensive line played today. They were a question mark in most minds coming in. But McKinnie played very well and was even in good enough shape to play the whole game. I didn't see that coming. His presence lets Oher move to his more natural spot at RT and also lets Yanda play guard, where he's at his best, too.

I also liked the secondary play. When it mattered, they had good coverage. Williams and Webb had very good games and we didn't even see Jimmy Smith today.

So the good guys won. But it's an early battle in the war.

So they got humiliated because they weren't really trying that hard? I can't tell if that's intended to be good or bad.

I only meant that a loss would have been a much bigger deal to Baltimore than to Pittsburgh. The Steelers are their mountain to climb. Pittsburgh has been there, done that and knows that a return match is coming at their place. Heated as this rivalry is and as close as the games have been, it's still been the Steelers almost always coming out on top.

Wow, the Steelers got taken behind the woodshed today. Great game by the Ravens, they really took it to us. Hopefully this game was just a bad day for the Steelers and we get them next time.

Ravens D looks scary good today.

Not only is roadkill1292 a Ravens fan, he is an extremely knowledgeable and classy footballguy.Ironically, Irish Chaos shows that the Steeler haters are at least as ridiculous as some Steeler fans.

It's a good day for a lot of you out there that loathe black and gold. Hope you enjoyed the show.

This isn't even true. Sometimes when Hines Ward opens his mouth, a breathalyzer gets stuck in it.

:goodposting: Well, I didn't see that result coming. The way the Ravens played in the preseason had me extremely worried about this game. I'm still in a bit of shock about how sharp they looked and how flat the Steelers were. The Ravens' O Line played well, which I think is going to be the key to their season. Flacco looked very good to me and - praise the Lord! - actually threw the ball away when he didn't have anyone open. The defense was stout - Ngata wreaked havoc on the pocket and Suggs was in Ben's face all day.

I heard Mike Greenburg on ESPN this morning saying the Ravens ran the score up. I'm not going to go there, but I did having a churning in my gut seeing the starters out there after the game was all but decided.

I fully expect a different game at Heinz Field in November.

To state the obvious the Steelers were completely dominated by the Ravens yesterday. Going into the game I was expecting to see Flacco on his back a lot because Baltimore's o-line looked horrible in the preseason games that I watched. Boy was I wrong, the Ravens o-line handled the Steelers front 7 with ease.

Another thing I expected was to see the Ravens pick on McFadden and that did happen. The Steelers better either get him some help or get him off the field because he is clearly the weak leak link and is going to be tested every week.

On defense the Ravens destroyed the Steelers o-line where there seemed to be a lot of confusion with blocking assignments. As bad as they played the Steelers offense was able to move the ball but Baltimore kept taking it away. Ben had a particularly bad day with several very poor throws that were picked and probably should have had a few more.

My hat is off to the Ravens as they were ready to play while the Steelers did not look prepared at all. Clearly the better team won this week and it wasn't even close. I expect this is going to be an intense week of practice for the Steelers as they get ready to play the Seahawks at Heinz...
