Game Thread W15 - Cincinnati at San Francisco (1 Viewer)

What a ridiculous waste of a TO.

Only to be topped by Gumbel saying why not, he's got three (after calling a TD while the ref is waving it off when he won't even call a 1st when it's 5 yards past) . And then two minutes later talking about how Marvin wasted a TO. Thumbs down to Nolan's 4th down try, Marvin's wasted TO, and Gumbel's broadcastins "skills"

lol TJ housh is hilarious... "WHY AREN'T THEY KICKING THE FIELD GOAL??... MAKE IT A TWO POSSESSION GAME"... it's almost like he wanted to go home.
Or he made the observation that anyone with any knowledge of football could have made. Even the announcers said something about it and they're morons.

This should at least be reviewed
The ball came flying out as he fell to the ground.
After he hit the ground.
And?
It's incomplete when that happens every time. Whoever told him to challenge should be fired. And he should fire himself for listening.
Everyone in the Bungles organization should be fired and they should start fresh. They are the suckiest bunch of sucks that have ever sucked.

WOW, Bengals have ZERO heart. You cannot let anyone make a 3rd and 9 with the game on the line by running. They need to clean house in Cincy, at least on the Defensive side. That was awful...

I somehow didn't mute the game until just now. These guys are complete idiots. Saying C> Johnson not catching the short pass as Carson Plamer's fault, then when Chad flat drops the TD pass, moron says nothing. Just like former athletes to go and blame others and then have nothing when guys who have gone broke this year (Chad Johnson all mouth and nothing to back it up this year). It took the cake though when Lewis challenged I hear, "You can't take them with you (challenges). It would only cost you a timeout, and you have three." Are you kidding? You're down 7 and need every time out you can get! NFL Network get a clue and get some guys that don't completely make fools of themselves and a supposed lack of any knowledge of the game. BTW, if anyone thinks Chad Johnson is a Pro-Bowler this year, they need to realize this is 2007, not 2005.

 Doesn't Chad only have 6 TD's?

BTW the 2 WRs not to make the ProBowl should be Welker & Chad. I thought that was so obvious but the announcers didnt wanna offend OverratedCinco

The Bengals flat out suck. They can ##### and moan about the defense, but if you can't put up more than 13 on the Niners, with Palmer, CJ and Housh, then it is far from the defense's fault. A 20 point game shouldn't be too hard to overcome for a team with that supposed firepower.

*sigh*

Kinda hopin' the 'fins beat the Ravens this week so they are 1-14 going into the game vs. my Bengals. This team doesn't respond to adversity well AT ALL and so much as a 6-0 Dolphins lead could be enough to lead to yet another death spiral.

How those guys could honestly sit there and say about Braylon Edwards as well, "I'd leave him off as this is the first time he's done it." He has 13 freaking touchdowns to Chad's 6! Housh has 11 to Chad's 6! Learn some math morons. There is absoutely no reason why it isn't Welker and Chad Johnson being left off the list.

Housh has about 200 yards less but double the TDs plus he leads the league in receptions. I don't care if you get doubleteamed every play, numbers speak for themselves. Housh will probably lose out due to CJ's name recognition, but Stinko is 6th on that list IMO.

I will say this about Chad. If you are gonna glare at your QB like he does, you BETTER make that catch when the game is on the line. No excuses. Put that HOF jacket away for good.

P.S. - still doesn't excuse Palmer and Lewis

What doesn't make sense to me is Palmer, for the most part, is throwing underneath most of the night. But, on 4th and 3, when you need the 1st, they go for it all. Beautiful throw, but just would have made more sense the get the 1st and a fresh set of downs.

The fact that I also have TJ may be clouding my judgment...

Its a tough year to pick WR's on the AFC side. I'd probably leave Chad as the odd man out. He'll make it though. People get used to voting people in year in and year out. Some times they get it wrong. While chad getting in would be dubious. It wouldn't be that bad. I've seen worse oversites.

I think Chad just shouldn't be in the conversation with this. Truly. It will be a travesty if he goes and Housh doesn't. Something tells me that injustice WON'T happen, though.

1) Moss. Duh.

2) Wayne. He's done it without Harrison all year. Gotta reward that.

3) Housh. Housh = :moneybag: His APC is low because he makes those tough catches over the middle for first down distance.

4) I'd have to say Edwards, but Welker is every bit as worthy. I think Welker would be the sentimental choice (he's like to have less such opportunities compared to Edwards IMO). But Edwards has made such a huge difference on that team this year I'd have to give it to him.

5) Welker

6t) Chad and Brandon Marshall, who has no shot but has had a good year.

No that makes sense -- I could see going like that on 3rd..... but given they need a score and time was beginning to run out.... yeah, I would have gone for the 1st as well.

JMO but I thought Chad was the obvious one to leave off the AFC's 6 Pro Bowl WR's. The tougher choice was the other one to leave off.

Deion made a very very good point. They were keeping the offensive formations simple for Hill. As you can see he's doing pretty damn good. A couple of weeks ago a commentator made the comment that Hostler was trying to use tooooo many formations and it was causing all kinds of problems. False starts, ppl missing their assignments. Last year, Norv was keeping it simple as well and the offense did good. Well a lot better than this year..

Moss

Wayne

Edwards (if he doesn't make it it's robbery)

Welker

A month ago I would have had TJ in there, but he tailed off big time.

ARE YOU FREAKIN KIDDING ME?????How do you let Gore get that 1st...... sweet merciful god.....
The exact words I muttered. And something up with all that glaring and the long faces between Palmer, CJ, TJ. Seriously, what's with that? Also heard announcers say Marvin Lewis said something about not being responsible for his Defense? That lack of accountability is why CIN is in trouble.

Even with the tail off they have pretty much the exact same numbers going into tonight's game, Housh with 3 more TDs. And Welker tailed off big time 2 games ago (reason I'm not in the playoffs) himself. The sad reality is that Stinko is going to go because of his name and face time and because of it 2 of 3 guys who deserve to go more than are going to be left out. But your absolutely right, Edwards should be a lock. Gumbel actually said something smart when he hinted that if Chad got it and TJ didn't that Chad should back out with an injury so Housh could go. But quite frankly, the last 2 years I've seen Housh become more and more of a whiny tool. Yelling and whining for a flag after every pass he doesn't catch and beating his chest and talking trash for every pass he does. I really find it hard to root for him even when he's on my team.

Moss

TJ is def. in... the guy has 96 receptions 966 yards and 11 TD's... no way he gets bumped... i don't care if he "tailed off"

Welker

Marshall... I think Marshall is going to take the spot that everyone thinks is going to Edwards. 20 more receptions and more yards just lacking in the TD department.

The only thing thats going to hurt Edwards is his own teammate... Edwards isn't getting he recognition for turning the browns around... Derek Anderson is.
