Game Thread W3 - NY Jets V Oakland (1 Viewer)

That is a huge mistake there. Could have let that kickoff go out of the end zone, but he tries to field the line drive at the shoe tops, and kicks it all the way out to the 15 yard line. Here come the Raiders!

I will never understand Mark Sanchez. He just led an incredible drive with a couple perfect throws, to nicely balance how poorly he's played this half.

A good NFL receiver would have gotten a PI on that last play. Would have jumped back into the defender.

Why is that a bad call? They were at the 2 yard line. They need one touchdown. Are they really going to get a better chance at a touchdown than that on the next drive? With 47 seconds left?

were fans throwing things on the field there at the end? Looked like a cup and then a tennis ball or something. Strange since they just won the game.

Good call going for the TD. If there was like 1:15 left, I would say kick. But with 47 seconds, you have to take your shot at 6 there.

Disastrous loss. Not because the Raiders are a terrible team, but because of the Jets upcoming schedule.

Road trips to Balt and New England coming up. If they lose both and NE beats Oakland next week, the division is all but over (Don't think Buffalo is for real just yet)

The decision to go for the TD wasn't just right, but obviously right. If you don't like your team's chances to get the TD from 2 yards out, then what are the odds of being able to get the TD if you recover an onside kick? Taking the FG would have been atrocious. It just didn't work out for the Jets.

It has nothing to do with whether you "like" your chances. It's purely about the math.

Pretty sure that was his point.
 It seemed like he was saying that if you don't have the confidence to go for the TD, then you're not the kind of team that could score after an onside kick.
