Game Thread W3 - Washington V Houston (1 Viewer)

I"m glad Portis is doing so well for my team. But that is one of the ghayest celebrations I've ever seen. I'd love to see a Texan rip his head off.

He's been nothing compared to Owen Daniels, my sleeper TE fill-in for Gates.

Go Daniels! 0 receptions for 0 yards!

Seriously, is he even playing (not able to watch game)?

Not sure why the incompletion on the last drive didn't count. I know there was a roughing the QB call but I thought the play counted when that happened.

Portis still in the game or will they shut him down with this all but over?
he is done for d a game fellas ! He already hurt his shoulder a little early and had a great game despite it - no reason to play Portis anymore with it well in hand ! thanks to southeast jerome for 150 yards and 2 TD's !

Clinton Portis is a good football player.
:yes:If you didn't pay any particular attention to him and thought more of his goofy outfits and interviews than his football ability, you could easily miss that but he's got great talent and he's a gamer. Easy guy to root for.

He's a great guy to root for. Very hardworking, best blocker among the team's RB's (and probably one of the best among the league's RB's), the coaching staff loves him, other players respect and like him. And he's funny as hell, not all full of himself. My favorite player in years and years to root for.

If you want to know why Cartwright doesn't play much, there's why. His fumble last year at KC probably lost a road game that they would have otherwise won.

Portis has played without his head before. He's tough.

wtf w/Betts out-rushing Portis? Just wondering.
They pulled Portis after he scored the 2nd TD to put them up by 3 scores. I think this will be a theme throughout the year in order to take wear and tear off of him. Betts is a good RB in his own right - nothing outstanding but probably close to Lamont Jordan in terms of running skill - so they're not overly concerned about putting more of the load on him if they need to. Portis is fine. Keep playing him. Most games they won't be up by 3 scores in the 3rd quarter, so this shouldn't be too much of a problem for Portis owners.

:goodposting: So, what's Duckett's role? After week one, we hear Duckett is the goalline back and it just so happens the Redskins were never in that situation. Last week, he gets a few series and, again, they have no goalline situations. This week, they had a goalline situation and Portis gets the carry. Then, Cartwright messes up some garbage time carries. I thought Duckett would have been perfect in the fourth quarter today. The Houston defense was pretty much ready to go home and Duckett could have really had a field day against them.

I thought I read that he was inactive for the game. I'm with you, I don't get it. :shrug:The advantage that Cartwright has over him is that Rock plays special teams, and does so very well. If Duckett was, as some have said, only brought in as insurance against a Portis injury with no particular plan to play him beyond such an eventuality, then my opinion of that trade has greatly diminished.
