Game Thread W8 - Detroit V Denver (1 Viewer)

I think some people are going to be eating some major crow, LOL (before it's all over). This is the first time Tebow hasn't scored 20 points when he gets any kind of extended action.

He'll get better & better. Tebow is absolutely an outstanding prospect. I'm not sure why people can't see that.
Wow dude really?
I think he's making a joke. I mean he just has to be.
I think a lot of people actually believe he's a good prospect, but simply don't want to admit it. That's the only reason I can think of. Tebow has a lot of work to do, but he's a monster FF prospect. I don't see how anyone could say otherwise. That doesn't make him a lock for success, but I like his chances for many reasons.
I would love to see 3 of these `many`.

 I would say Tebow is the next Josh McCown, but that would be an insult to McCown. He's not an "outstanding" prospect by any means. He's another McDaniels experiment gone wrong. Hopeless as a passer

Decker and the Lions DST with some nice garbage time

So nice to have three starters left vs. a kicker going into Sunday night

Now I get to enjoy two games instead of sweating it out

Decker still relevant with Tebow is the takeaway from today. Oh, and nice 1st half line from Titus Young, eh.

I'm really not trying to be mean here but has anyone ever.... EVER seen a QB release so slow that he looks like he is passing in water? It almost amazing, in a bad way but that is going to be a major major flaw for the kid. This isn't something I see correctable with him either.

 You can't think of a single reason someone might question Tebow's future in the NFL beyond that they really DO believe it deep down but just don't want to admit it? wtf kind of nonsense is that?

there are about 137 reasons Tebow will NEVER been a starting NFL QB for more than a few games, and they all involve his lack of skills and inability to do things like throw the ball accurately. He's NEVER been able to. how is that going to change? You are either fishing or a fool - there is no other reason for being this intractable.
You know as well as I do there's people that hate Tebow regardless of what they think of his ability. For whatever reason, he's one of those players that just evokes it. I kinda get it, NFL fans are passionate, but people should separate their like or dislike & rate players regardless of their feelings. Anyway, it simply amazes me you & others can write him off based on today's game. Like he hasn't flashed very good ability before. I find it pretty unbelieveable, lol.

That said, Tebow has a lot to learn. Bad game today, but write him off? No way. I could be wrong, sure, but the key is to be right much more than you're wrong. Long ways to go, though, IMO.

BTW, one thing a good FFer does is not be too stubborn. If it gets to the point I don't think Tebow is going to make it, I'll jump ship. FF is a fluid hobby.

Today was not his only bad game.

He needs to be a above average NFL player before he can be an outstanding FF prospect. You don't score many fantasy points from the bench.
He managed 10 points in my scoring format. Scored as many points as my opponents QBs, Flacco (8) and Gabbert (2), combined. Someone who can still score FF points with as game this awful is good enough for me. I'll still gladly take him in fantasy.

The majority of Tebow haters are because of the unjustified praise he gets from his apostles.

Apart from one good game against Houston last year, he has never played well at this level. He didn't play well last week. He was awful for 3 quarters against one of the worst teams in the league before scraping together a couple drives. He still finished below 50% completions. He's a trainwreck out there. Not accurate. Not decisive. Slow in his release.

Everyone knew he was a HUGE gamble when McDaniels shockingly opted to use a first round pick on him. There was always a huge cluster of analysts, both professional and amateur, who felt he had no business going that high. After the Senior Bowl last year there were questions of whether or not he was even draftable.

The criticism isn't just about his personality. He's a total project as a QB. The early returns haven't been pretty.

BTW, I need to watch the game on ShortCuts to see just what was so bad, LOL. I don't care what Tebow did today, it doesn't take away what he's shown before. That said, I may come away less enthused, not sure. I saw a little bit of the game.

People can get really passionate & stubborn, though. That can be a bad mixture. There's been debates on here where it's evident beyond all doubt people are wrong (over a long period of time, unlike Tebow) & they still trudge on, LOL. But no way do we know about Tebow yet. It would be different if he sucked in his other games. It may turn out the anti-Tebow crowd is right, but it's not now, IMO.

I can tell you one thing, If I AM wrong, I won't be stubborn about it. That's an absolute killer in FF.

Anyway, let's keep this thread civil. We'll agree to disagree for now. :)

The reason I don't like Tebow is that he gets to much positive press. Yesterday CBS was advertising John Lynch interview with Tim Tebow and I kept thinking why wouldn't they just interview someone good.
That's a terrible reason not to like him. He can't control what kind of press he gets. If this is your beef, hate the media, not Tebow. It's baffling that probably the worst starting QB in the NFL right now continues to be the biggest story in sports. What's more baffling is that people actually hate the guy because of this.

What has he shown before that leads you to believe he's going to be a good quarterback?

Tebow just doesn't seem capable of making NFL throws. I'm sure he's a great guy off the field and all, but in a sane world he'd be a 4th round draft pick at best.

"He just wins""He gets fantasy points"

All the same excuses people make for Tebow were made for Vince Young. As soon as someone breaks into "he just wins game" defense you know you've won the argument.

Agreed, I should be hating the media not Tebow. It happens when one player is over exposed ie Brett Favre.

You are wrong, the Dolphins are the worst team in the league.

Stafford had 32 without breaking a sweat. i'll stick with him.

Would like to see Fox give a big FU to the crowd and bring in Orton
that's pointless. We know Orton isn't the answer. Let the TT thing play out and move on after the year if need be.We are probably not getting Luck...interested in thoughts on RG3.
With that logic why not have timschochet be their qb? We don't know he isn't the answer. Why play a mediocre Orton who gives you a slim chance to win?
:excited: Do I get a big fat paycheck? I'll do it, so long as I get to go down immediately after every snap, whether I have the ball or not. I am not getting hit.

Tims Chochette wasn't a 1st round pick. The Broncos have nothing to gain by starting Orton this year. He gives a slim chance of winning a game in a lost season. That doesn't really do anything in the grand scheme. He'd just be a lame duck taking snaps. Starting TT will allow the front office to 1.) evaluate him. and 2.) If he plays as poorly as today, will likely give them a reasonable out after the year. If they don't let it play out and cut the cord without giving him an extended look, it could be a PR nightmare. The second reason might sound kind of lame, but that's the way it is.
