Game Thread W8 - Houston V Tennessee (1 Viewer)

Vince Young really impresses me. He has very few weapons on that team and he is consistantly putting them in position to win. His stats are not impressive, but he seems to really have an ability to control a game. Not bad at all for a guy who I didnt expect to make a real impact for a few years.
Yep.He's aiight.
VY is electric and has that unique ability to be a leader amongst men. I would look for the Titans to improve as the year goes on. With Rosenfels in the game, do you think the Texans wish they had selected hometown boy VY?!?

Texans still fighting. Go for it on 4th & 2 and convert. The 3rd down play before, AJ had a for certain TD but Sage put too much on the ball and AJ couldn't get his feet in.

Drew Bennett sighting. Makes a great catch for about a 20 some odd yard gain.

Edit: Just got a nice catch deep. It's ruled out but Fisher challanged. Likely be overturned. Looked like a good 30 yards or so. Ouch, they said he didn't have possesion. This is an ugly game, even the Ref's aren't having a good game.

Why do coaches get the 2 pt conversion backwards? They go for it when they shouldn't and don't go for it when they should.
It was the right call. Had they converted, the Texans would be down by 4. If you can score a TD you are then up by 3 and a last minute field goal by the other team only ties you, doesn't beat you.

He made some dumb mistakes. Took two sacks he should of gotten out of. Threw a terrible gift INT to the Titans def. Then fumbled the ball twice on two other sacks. Those two sacks weren't his fault and were from his blind side, but he's got to hold on to the ball.

does rosenfels start next week? he looked pretty good (or at least significantly better than carr) in his time today (at least he found owen daniels -- which might cost me this week's game).

Carr giving up the fumble right before the half that was returned for a Tenn TD was pretty much it for him. Very dumb play. Rosenfels played well, but the titans defense is not the best.

Vince managed the game well. No turnovers, and by all rights his passing should have been 8/15 for 112 or so (instead of 7/15 for 84) and a passing TD with 45 yards rushing and a nice 20 yard rushing TD. I still can't believe the refs said Bennett was out on that last pass for 28 yards. Totally ridiculous call. The game announcers were stunned after saying 5 times while watching the replay that it was clearly a catch.

Yeah. His value goes far beyond what he brings to the game physically. Young is a consummate leader in every sense of the word. He'll have guys ready to follow him to hell & back before it's all said & done.

There was less than 2 minutes left on the clock. No way Tennessee gets a FG AND Houston gets a TD. So unlikely as to not even consider it.

I'll say it again. It was clearly a catch. I was stunned. That was a damn nice throw, and it shoulda been 1st and 10 with a chance to produce more yards and points. After that they were just in clock-killing mode.Oh well. A "W" is a "W", and for Vince and the Titans, this is a rather large one. I'm happy for him.Oh, and....F the Texans.

Just got back from the game. Vince looked good. After the game coach Fisher said Young had "taken another step" and that's pretty much how I'd put it. The defense is still stuggling and they're dealing with a lot of injuries, but both Young and Lendale White looked good today.

Doesn't matter if you think it's unlikely. It in no way costs them anything to attempt the 2 pt conversion and if they fail they are in the exact same position as if they just kicked the PAT.
