Garrett Jones ----- Get-him-active (1 Viewer)

Finless

He's got like 6 home runs in his last 4 games. Paid the price by leaving him on my bench in two different leagues. Won't make that mistake again.

Dropped Jordan Zimmermann in my 6-team keeper, H2H league for Jones. Could use some OF depth since acquiring Josh Beckett.

Who do I play him in front of in a roto format?

C Pena

C Lee

Manny

J Werth

S Victorino

A Dunn

M Holliday

We play 4 OF and 2 UTL positions.........so he'd have to bump one of these guys

Would you guys pick up Jones and drop any of these guys?

N. Cruz

Damon

Markakis

Holliday

Sorry for the n00b question.

No, but surely you have another option to drop. This kid is that good. He'll probably be more valuable than Damon going forward. Maybe even the others. Still a bit risky at this point. Thing is all this kid has showed us is he hits for power, average and steels bases.

Traded away V Mart a couple weeks ago......Inge is now my catcher

Guy is looking for a cheap keeper, and Jones fits the bill.

I've been offered Posada and V Mart for Jones.........Jones is really a fill in for Pena at this time

Guy has to come back to earth, right?

What do you think?

2-5 with another dong and two ribs tonight :confused:He can't keep this pace up....obviously. But I'm feeling pretty good about grabbing him off of waivers two weeks ago. We may have the next Ryan Braun on our hands folks. I think the fastballs were just a bit too slow in the minors.

Stop beating around the bush, what are you telling me?

34 18 35 9 .306 in 222 ABs

Over a full season that would put him at 48 HRs, 94 RBIs, and 24 SBs. I understand this guy has been in the minors forever but these numbers can not be ignored. If you're in a dynasty or keeper league he's definitely worth keeping around. Newbs will drive up his ADP next season but those numbers are ridiculous. Extrapolated over a season eligible at 1B which he may end up being and OF he's a top 5 pick  He's Ryan Braun with infield eligibility.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I think the fastballs in the minors were just too slow for this kid.

He'll have some off weeks but you don't want to miss out on his hot streaks. He should be active in all formats right now.

He's a great hitter, and he bats well for an average which is really good for players that put up good homerun and RBI numbers.

Like I said in the 2010 breakout thread this guys power is legit. The ball JUMPS off his bat. I doubt he hits close to .300 again but hes a lock for 30 hrs and 100 rbi in my opinion.

good possibility on the first. not sure about the 2nd. the top of the order is better with iwamura and mccutcheon, but 100 RBIs might be a stretch. 80 RBIs sounds about right.

He's on pace for 486 RBIs.

Still on pace for 486 RBIs....... ;)

Hovering near the Mendoza line.
Don't think they are giving him much to hit. He's walking a ton so he's been fine as a UT, or CI in an OBP league. Needs someone hitting after him to start hitting the ball on occasion. Doumit sure hasn't been scaring anyone and Clement/LaRoche have been brutal.
