Gates Resting this Week? (1 Viewer)

The only info I could find. It seems they're in no hurry to release the practice report. The fact that he practiced today is leading me to leave him in my lineup. I'll no doubt pay for that decision.

Unreal....

Gates, Moss, Brady, Fargas, Edwards

Anything else that can screw me out of a championship this week.

I realize I'm gonna get raped for this post...but damnit this is a bad week for all this to happen.

FROM ROTOWORLD..................

Antonio Gates-TE-Chargers Dec. 13 - 8:36 pm et

Antonio Gates (hip/back) missed a second straight day of practice Thursday, but the Chargers aren't concerned about his status for Week 15.

"Antonio's a lot better today than he was yesterday and I would hope he can do parts of practice tomorrow," coach Norv Turner said. "If he progresses the way he has over the last two days, then I think he'll be all right."

I thought I was being clever by picking up Scheffler just before the WW closed 2 weeks ago. Why didn't I just grab a TE who didn't have any Thursday games?!?
:bag: :wall: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
Same boat.If Gates doesn't play that goose egg will be even more painful with Scheffler's points on the bench.Thurs games.... :kicksrock:
Exact same boat as you. I almost considered putting Scheffler in too, but how do you sit Gates in the playoffs?

Im with ya brothers. Was tough to see sheffler have a great game on my bench. :X

Clayton just went through all the major injuries. Mentioned everyone (Big Ben, Rivers, Harrison, Shockey, etc.) except Gates.

Chargers | A. Gates expected to play Week 15 - Fri Dec 14 4:27:00 p.m. ET 2007

(KFFL) San Diego Chargers TE Antonio Gates (back) was limited in practice Friday, Dec. 14. Gates is listed as questionable but is expected to play Week 15.

I was really hoping Denver would win last night. Chargers have all but locked the division title with the Denver loss, which means less reason to play the big man.

Guy from Footballinjuries.com was on Sirius radio today going over the games, and said Gates was expected to play, but was not a "lock" to play. My opponent has Witten so I need some pts from my TE!! How do I bench Gates though if there is no definitive word, esp with no real replacement out there?

I still feel though that Gates plays. Even if San Diego has the Division, they are still fighing with Pittsburgh and others for seeding... Thats hugely important.... They will play to win this week--

Sorry, fixed it :excited:
No need for eye-rolling--I really wanted to know what he said. I could tell it was something like that, but there were a lot of different ways that statement could have gone.No one seems to be particularly nervous about him playing except for Gates owners. I don't know if people are just assuming because he kept playing last week. I felt it wasn't a big deal earlier in the week, but the lack of practice is a little worrisome. I still feel he'll play and even if he's at 75% he's a better option than pretty much anything I could get off the waiver wire at this point.

The one blurb said his condition would be updated today. Anyone hear anything?

I didn't mean anything by the eye rolling:-) I don't use those icons much and picked the wrong one....

I'm in the same boat at you. Almost have to roll the dice and play him.... His injury doesn't seem like something NFL players can't play through and Gates has been very durable and player hurt before, but its still nervewracking.. Good luck to everyone with him, and please update tomorrow if any news comes out of SD.

Gates was born in Detroit and from what I've read, he has alot of family there. I would expect him to be motivated to play if he is healthy enough.
good point
No its not. See post #12
sure it does.. doesnt matter that its in San Diego. Still going to be shown in detroit. and he is going to know that he his playing the Lions.. a team that he would have grown up hearing. I think it would matter.
 Seriously? I dont believe that but youre entitled to your opinion.
Keep laughing.. Gates feels this way to smart guy."Sunday's game will be televised in Detroit, and Gates would like to put on a show for his old friends and family members."I grew up in Detroit watching Barry Sanders and Herman Moore and those guys, and now I get a chance to play against them," Gates said. "The time I played against them when I was a rookie, it's now a different situation." "
